Had a day off today and I decided to clean up the workshop/garage and I was going through my toolbox well I say toolbox its actually just a plain box with tools thrown in. So I made a decision on buying a toolbag for all the hand tools that I use not every tool just the ones I use, so I started looking at the Vetos and they seem to be marketed around electricians and HVAC techs which I am none off but I do like the upright hand tool storage. My question is does anyone here use one just for storing hand tools and is there cheaper and similar toolbags on the market.?
Just bought one and it arrived yesterday. Have not had a cance to use it as I bought it to use when preforming maintenance at work. Veto has several styles so double check what you want to carry. The tech bags have large pockets for meters. I bought my at jet.com with a 15% coupon in the US.
I can barely justify the price of a Veto to myself, much less for DIY home use. The better Husky Pro bags at HD – the heavier-quality black ones – are a great value, in my opinion, but what’s available to you in Ireland, I don’t know.

Just the Stanley and dewalt ones are most popular but they are mostly just a big empty pocket with smaller pockets im looking for one with just pockets on both sides.
Edit seems to not be working correctly for me today. I had tried to add earlier that CLC makes some good bags too, and they’ll have models similar to what it sounds like you’re seeking. You may be able to get them on Amazon UK.

Very Nice. love the tools layout.
I have the Veto XL as well. It’s a great bag.
very nice tool bag.
i tried to adapt to one several times, they tend to get really heavy.
i still use the tool pouch thrown into a bucket idea

You WOULD have a coupon for that!!!
I say Veto is all I’ll get for toolbags, gone through several different brands and hated them til i found veto!
Got my OT XL on the right about 3 years ago, and since then, some of the other guys have switched, too, the one on the left is one of the HVAC guys and another guy has a Tech XL closed top.
I like the bottom of the bags with the plastic to keep my stuff dry, working around water…

I like the OT XL, that is on my list…
I have an OT LC and a regular LC.
I bought the OT LC a few years back and used it for a while, and then stopped for whatever reason. I recently had a dewalt backpack that was okay. It was too big for my needs. Just went to the LC and absolutely love it. Veto really makes the best tool bags out there. I think you’d be hard pressed to find one that is completely destroyed…
Some one stole mine….I miss it [emoji31][emoji31]

That stinks I hate thieves
I use Veto MCT for my daily service bag. I had a larger Veto Tech LC for my less used specialty stuff and a Veto Tech Pac for climbing. The problem with Veto is that they are bloody heavy bags. I actually use a Klein electricians bag/Pac now for my secondary bags. It’s so much lighter and and still very durable. I don’t think I would ever buy another bag without a plastic bottom.
Veto is hands down the best bag imo, but very bulky and heavy. I can fit the same tools into a much smaller and lighter bag. Sometimes weight and size are more important.

I’ve got the Tech LC. It’s a bit large for a service type bag. I think I’m gonna pick up the TP3 pouch and keep the essentials in that. The Tech LC can fit a bunch of electrical type hand tools along with some testing equipment.
I guess it would depend on what type of hand tools you plan to carry and for what type of work. The bags are great, I’m gonna stick with Veto. Other bags I like are the open top bags from Stanley. You might have to do some customizing yourself to fit your needs, but the Stanley bags are cheap. Husky is good too as well as clc

Sorry to hear that man, I would be sad too.
I few weeks ago, someone broke into our shop and stole a bunch of tools along with our Chevy Utility Truck. He took my Milwaukee Fuel Impact and Hammer Drill Kit and a small bag of various hand tools. Somehow, he didn’t see my Veto, thank god. The bag along with all the tools in it are around $800. I tried to get the video of the burglar but our security system deleted the video already
Sorry for your loss….my loss was around $400…..but I only had it for a month. Best tool bag on the market.

One of the guys at work decked his bag out with a sweet led strip and an m12 battery. He said he’s got a power source to have more permanently instead of this temporary setup:

Now I may purchase the MB2.
I have a lot of different meters I use, I want to keep them all together rather than cart around 5 or 6 different soft cases plus my tool bag.

Ya? Can it fit a lot in it?
I’ve watched a couple videos of people giving reviews and showing what they keep in it and im trying to gauge if it will work for what Im trying to do.
I wanna fill it with all my meters

Right now I keep my Fluke 179′ and my Fluke 322, line spliter, leads, extensions, and ,my Fluke 1400 Amp Clamp. And there’s room for more.
when I put all my meters together I keep them in hard shell case ( can’t remember the name off hand) with the foam insert, and keep the leads in a roll up

I dont have that many meters.
I have a clamp meter, a DMM, both uei.
Dual temperature meter
Manometer
circuit breaker finder
and a 3 phase rotation meter
Looks like it should all fit judging by what you are keeping in yours if you have extra room
You shouldn’t have a problem fitting your gear, it’s a big bag, I can fit my Bacarach Fryrite Insight Combustion Analyzer in there as well if I wanted too.
what kind/brand of 3 phase rotation meter do you have?

These are what Im putting in.
And to answer your question its UEI
Im a big fan of UEI. Everything I have is UEI except my manometer. I used to have a dual UEI but my apprentice has temporarily relocated it and forgot where… So in a pinch I bought a cheap Supco to get me through a job.
Nice spread of meters my friend, did you pick up Manometer from Firedragon?
MikeyB wrote:

I got it at my plumbing supplier
UEI makes great stuff. If you have a good supply house by you that stocks the MB2 bring your meters and see if it will suit your needs.

Yeah im a big UEI fan. Im a pretty loyal guy when it comes to tools. I’d say 90% of my hand tools are Milwaukee. 100% power and cordless are also Milwaukee, All my meters are UEI with the exception of that manometer.
When I find stuff I like, I generally stick with it fully until something happens to make me think otherwise

Thanks.
Vetos come with a pretty hefty price tag, but they are so worth it in my opinion. There is not one tool BAG out there that can even come close with quality, durability or warranty. You get what you pay for these days, and there is about 1000$ in meters in that photo and I believe they are going to be very well protected.

I use it for anything I can throw in it. Larger cordless tools, misc drill bit cases, batteries, Chargers, my 18″ & 2′ wrenches, etc, etc.
i also love to take it on trips/vacations for kids toys, wife’s shoes, iPads, Chargers, anything and everything. Love that bag, real heavy duty. Well worth it, would like to get the smaller one as well.

So rather than storing things in it permanently, you fill it up with whatever you need for that particular job.

Exactly, that’s what’s nice about the Cargo tote. This is not my bag just a pic I found on Google. You can carry a lot of tools/material in theses
