Hello- My Sawzall ingested a fastener and tore the fan up and punctured the housing casting internally. I ordered all the parts to repair from the local Service Center.

My question is, how do I get the old fan hub off of the armature shaft?…

Thanks, in advance for any help, and please note attachment.

Wow… Sorry I’m not sure how to dismantle, do you have a big exploded view maybe?

Do you have pictures of the actual part?  You might be able to figure how to get the old one off based on how the new one would fit on.

Is it keyed or press fitted on the shaft? If it’s pressed on you might want to gently apply some heat to soften it ever so slightly and expand it. Same goes for putting it back on. Just be careful to not deform the vanes or it might unbalance it making it vibration prone…

Hope you get that figured out. That fan can be a pain in my face, as in blowing dust straight into my face… I’ve put my hand over the vent ports for short periods of time when I’m in a position it blows in my face. It gets irritating, but it’s kind of nature of the beast, needs a fan to move air to pull the heat out of the motor
