No radio? What’s the reasoning behind that?

Ok that makes sense, I’m all for longer battery life and better sound, I just hardly ever use a radio to begin with!
What does upcoming mean? A month from now? This fall? Available only certain parts of the world… just curious

Sometimes their upcoming tools are already out, and the brushless recip saw has been upcoming for around a year. Nobody knows.
The only time I use the radio feature is for AM radio, so the crappy 30 dollar ridgid junk speaker works just fine, but for music, this looks pretty sweet!
I know the younger generation of craftsman in belgium all use their phone for their own music so this would be cool for them 🙂
I think this is cool stuff for some people. People loves radio with bluetooth so why not to love this one 🙂
That is pretty cool! On an unrelated noted, I got the Makita battery USB supply. That thing is friggin awesome! I was using it all weekend at work (I must’ve ticked my boss off…..I had to work this weekend at bike week 🙁 )
They were giving this radio away at the Makita trade day I went to at the beginning of the month, so they are available here in NZ.
Korno, any word on a price? How do you this this Bluetooth compares to the Milwaukee?
This looks like a winner. I use my M12 speaker almost daily, so hopefully this is a home run for Makita; it’s fantastic having a small solution with great battery life.
I want one to replace my crappy DeWalt Bluetooth speaker.
Does anyone have a model number for this little guy yet? I was just doing some searching for it and only the existing bluetooth radio is coming up.
Dmr200
Just now noticed, this runs off AC power yes? Does it have an adapter of sorts, or a place to plug in with a separate cord?
Yeh theres an adapter included. At the side are 3 rubber tabs. Sockets for power/ aux / USB charging port
I saw these yesterday here for $199 (USD$145)
I’ll wait for the price to drop once itS circulating more around here.
anybody have this? How is the sound?
November release in belgium :/
okay so I took the chance and ordered it. I’m actually very pleased with this speaker.
First off, the sound. I will compare it to my bose soundlink. It is similar, but the bose will sound a lot fuller and richer. The makita still gives a great sound, and actually better than I expected. The volume is pretty good too. I would say my bose soundlink get a little louder but not by too much.
I really like the small portability of the speaker and of course and the fact that it uses the same battery, makes it much more convenient than using my bose (which when it was dying, I had to find a plug close by to where im working to charge.) I
You could maybe find better sounding outdoor/rugged speakers in a similar price range that should hold up pretty well but I’m very happy with this option.

Nice! You know, if you don’t compare it to anything, it’s probably the best you’ll hear all day!

I just recently was given a radio (Milwaukee radio/charger), the very first i have ever had in my life, and I thought I would be using it on my phone only, but i tune it into radio stations a lot more than I thought I would so I’m glad it’s part of the radio

Great info! How’s the BT range on this little guy? Now that I’m getting my foot into the Makita platform again, I’ve been looking at this speaker as an upgrade for my M12 BT speaker.

I was playing with the DMR200 the other day. It’s actually quite big. It’s small enough to be portable, but it really isn’t that much smaller or lighter than the DMR108.
I love the idea of the cell phone compartment on the back, but they vented the little door and notched it for a cord. Seems odd not to make it dust proof.

Good to know! I’ll most likely keep my M12 if do get the DMR200 but don’t have the room to carry the m18 BT radio. Also I usually just use Spotify radio when I feel like changing it up.

I bought the DRM108. Very happy with it.
I toiled between the 200 and 108, in the end, I like having a radio.
