I know I am going to sound like a broken record, but when I first heard about battery powered outdoor equipment, I thought to myself someone is putting on a good joke. How could battery power get the job done? At least with today’s battery technology. Well as most of you know, I was wrong, very wrong. I ended up with the whole line of the Ego products and haven’t looked back. They are powerful, reliable, start up right away and are easy to use. Plus they produce a great final result.
Ego now brought out a new trimmer this year. It is more powerful with it’s brushless motor and better because it has a 15″ cutting swath. The line is also more beefier with a .095″ twist line. I was like you Eric, I did not think that a battery unit could get the job done. I will be giving up gas and going with a unit like the Ego on my next trimmer. I have not seen a self propelled battery mower yet so the Honda mower is safe, I am too lazy to push a mower.
Home depot has the 12″ version of this which is not a brushless unit and it’s selling for 179 on sale. Reviews said it was a little under powered. Maybe this one is a vast improvement over that one. Lets hope anyway, I want to go with the battery type next time.
