Makita 10″ cordless, brushless  double bevel..mitre saw with Bluetooth,,auto vacuum when trigger is pulled….XSL06 ….sorry don’t know how to get a screen pic…….Cmon Dewalt

framerMember since Jan 2011

i like how the rails are more compact.  thats my one gripe with the dewalt 12″ miter saws.  the rails are long and makes the saw a bit big.

Hell I’d just like to see a 10″ like the rest of the world gets

Should they go bluetooth route like Makita or go vibration route like Metabo?

i just dont understand the appeal of that saw.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

I like the dial for degrees up front and so compact….I don’t about if it’s powerful or if that rail set is sturdy but I like the set up on that Makita………the eu Dewalt 10″ a saw a vid on and it’s very interesting…

MordekyleMember since Dec 2016

The 10 is appealing to me, because my 7 1/4″ 20v won’t cut through a 4×4 in one pass- you have to rotate the post twice, for a total of 3 cuts, kind of a pain.

the small flexvolt saw is almost a waste of time in my opinion as it only bevels one way. I will never buy a saw that only bevels on way it is to much of a pain you end up cutting things upside down and all sorts

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

I like the 7 1/4 mitre from Dewalt it’s a nice saw..ya I wish it was dbl bevel ,but still nice…..I am waiting for a 10″ version only because my 7 1/4 cordless won’t cut azek rails which I use every weekend…and the 12″ cordless is big…

yes, a 10″ slider would be nice.  the 12″ are just so big to haul around.

builditguyMember since Mar 2016

The 12″ is big and heavy.  Played with it at the store.  7 1/4″ is nice and light, but sacrifice some cut.  Seems like a 10 would fit the bill nicely.

Then maybe bump the table saw up to a 10?  Either way, I’ll be getting the table saw.

BremonMember since Dec 2014

Table saw supposedly is getting bumped to a 10″ 120v max hybrid solution. I’d be shocked if we don’t see it revealed next month. Supposedly based on the DWE7491RS.

@Bremon, hopefully it’s as nice as the 120V max miter saw that you own?

BremonMember since Dec 2014

If the improvement for this saw off of the 7491 is the same refinement that the DHS790 has over the 780 it’s hard to imagine anyone being disappointed ??

Changes I see are grey metal, brushless motor, and option for battery or cord. Would be cool to see an innovative and useful new feature on this saw but I’m not sure what haha.

FrosBros82Member since Feb 2015

@Jronman Option for battery or cord I agree with, which is why I like their miter saw so much.

It’s not common on corded tools but crushless motor is nice.

No sneak peaks of the new 10″ Dewalt chop saw ????

JronmanMember since May 2016

well its almost august so almost event time.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

Ya….can’t wait . Not many sneak peaks compared to last year before the event. …Dewalt must have tightened the reigns a little…..I’m thinking there is a big announcement again this year…..not just new tools

I’m guessing demos of tool connect tools will be a thing then maybe we will see a lot of new vac stuff and more pluming and electrical stuff if the recent announcements of the cable stripper tool and pex tool are any hints.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

I can’t wait.  Wish I had a ticket. Wish I knew who gives the tickets out, cause there are many people who shouldn’t be there and others who should be

framerMember since Jan 2011

So is there a certain event going on in August?

midogrumpyMember since Jan 2010

let´s try to bring a bit stucture to this topic and write down what we know or to suspect

please try to keep the structure of this post and only add in new tools

… the next 4-5 posts nothing like: oh, great listing , didn´t know this was coming,, .. or thanks for listing, great idea ….)

(already known or even shipping: tracksaw, several cordless nailers)

anyone know the exact day of event ? / one or two day event / any agenda ?

1)

corded tools:

nothing known

from several posts some type of corded/cordless vac is suspected

no model number known

2)

flexvolt tools:

dcd996 X1

not really a new flexvolt tool, just an existing drill bundled with flexvolt battery (Europe)

dual port table saw ? / just rumors

single port ac adaptor / just rumors (some say canceled, some say in the making)

3)

cordless tools (20max):

  • DCE511 fan
  • DCCS620B Compact Chainsaw
  • DE400 PEX expander
  • DCS577 worm style circ. saw
  • xxxxx concrete nailer
  • DCG405 grinder, brushless
  • xxxx jigsaw; just rumors, no pic, just assumption

That looks interesting, wonder what the run time on the battery is like.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

On the rigid ,2 / 5ah will last me all day ..(1200 nails per specs) …the new Flex specs say (1220 nails ) on 1/ Flex 2ah/6ah ….so that should be all day, definitely on 1 ..3ah/9ah flex battery .. and with a 2.5 gal tank , you should be able to fire many more nails vs the rigid ,,before the compressor comes back on……..I just hope it runs quiet like the compact Dewalt 200psi trim compressor I have, it’s almost silent..

framerMember since Jan 2011

Speaking about rigid, my electrician bought a rigid cordless set a while ago because they advertised lifetime warranty on batteries. He went to home depot to get replacement batteries to find out those batteries weren’t made any more. And couldn’t be bought online. He raised a stink and got all his money back years later. Lol

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

Ya I bought into rigid for the cordless trim router ,sander, then got that small compressor which works fine for small trim jobs and hanger nails….of course Dewalt comes out with one now ! ……..

I’m hoping a cordless rear handle ros or ros/geared sander.  Maybe a cordless router that accepts 1/2 in collet. thanks my best friend is a graphic designer and wanted to help me design a logo. It’s not final but close to the final logo design

Grumpy MSGMember since Jun 2013

You do know DeWALT (and you might) have a cordless router in 20V already, you can run small 1/4 router bits in the DCS551 drywall tool. At 26,000 RPM it is a hair slower than the compact router’s top speed of 27,000. The base is smaller and would limit the diameter of bits available to you, but would probably work great with laminate trimming bits and small radius roundover bits. As for power I don’t think the little bit of wood or laminate would work it any harder than cutting 5/8″ drywall.

would depend on the wood but Im sure for softer woods it would work great.

Framer joeMember since Nov 2016

I tried that set up…the base is tin like …really not made for that,,,it really doesn’t work at all….completely different then say my cordless Ridgid trim router…..trust me I wish it did…

yeah, look at my list above (2 posts higher)

BUT there are also secrets !!!!

BiggieMember since Oct 2016

I see you have the dcf885 impact driver listed which is an old brushless model just curious if its a typo and theres a new impact driver or if you just mis read it as new?

I know I sound like a broken record, but is there any word on any impact wrenches coming out?  Compact Brushless 1/2″ or I’ve seen pictures of something that looks like it might be a mid torque?

FrosBros82Member since Feb 2015

@Biggie I have not heard anything about a mid torque, but I would assume that they would come out with something that is a little smaller, similar to what Milwaukee did earlier this year.

Yea there was a picture of what was maybe a mid torque or a redesign of a high torque on here a few months ago but it was hard to tell just what it was from the picture and the topic was deleted shortly after the picture got posted.

Maybe it will work. But that auger looks cheesy…….can’t wait for the event

the dcf888 is new and should be available soon if not already. It’s the 887 except includes tool connect.

On another note I guess my statement about DeWALT trying to play catch up with Milwaukee is actually becoming a thing. With all these tools from the E/P/HVACR/M trades coming out.
