So I guess we are not allowed to talk about new dewalt tools on here anymore? Is this site controlled by dewalt?
Whoever wanted that certain tool that we are not allowed to talk about wants it bad…up to $425 on ebay. Crazy.
I don’t think that it is controlled by DeWalt so much as the guys did it as a courtesy on DeWalt’s request. DeWalt is good to the guys and it’s only right for them to return the favor. I don’t think that they have a problem with posting tool sightings. We could post all we wanted of the fuel nailers. It just becomes an issue when the manufacturer steps in. You can’t fault DeWalt for not wanting their prototypes floating around out the.
Yea we can talk about it it’s just the picture that they wanted down, like sterco said Dan and Eric have a great relationship with Dewalt and it was the right thing to do, put yourself in their shoes… Some low level intern leaks a product your working in developing and then all your competition gets a hold of it, just a matter of respect here.

You can talk about new Dewalt tools Dewalt just asked to have it removed. It’s a give and take relationship if you want Dewalt to hook the crew up with free tools and such you have to respect their wishes also.
what new tool? link? pm me?

You got it.. they’re definitely big! 6-8 Ah? And fan cooled like the old 24 volts…
oh boy, i’m getting excited! lol
guys have some respect for the site, talking about it and linking to the source is not the same…..
Dewalt is buying that thing back for sure…

so i’m guessing this got stolen and pawned, or maybe the tester just pawned it? lol
but big deal, it will be out soon anyways.
Nice looking batteries…fuel gauge on the front.
Somebody will not be testing anymor new tools
Any legitimate forum in any industry, needs to respect the manufacturer’s requests. They may even get info early but not be able to talk about it until a certain time. If you don’t follow those rules, that manufacturer won’t deal with you again. That doesn’t just mean an end to giveaways but also any new tool reviews or breaking info when it’s ready to be released. This may also put the forum at risk of losing other company’s trust. Not respecting these rules is pretty disrespectful towards all the work the admins and moderators have done for this forum to get into the position they’ve earned. You might not like the rules but you should respect them.
If there’s a leak, you can find the info online but there’s no reason to bring it to a forum that requests that you don’t post it…A forum is privately owned, they can keep you from saying anything they want but our admins and moderators haven’t asked much from us. I think they deserve the respect before they have to be put in the position of demanding it to protect their hard work.
I deleted the eBay link posting so it shouldn’t be a problem
Wow can’t believe it was stolen, thats insane, i noticed the seller on eBay was a pawn shop.

it’s gone now…good job guys…
Man, that has to be a real pain in the arse to have a prototype swiped from you during testing. I would be real hard on the person who was responsible for it, if it were up to me.
I know a few guys that run large forums. If anyone reposted a link or posts a picture that the moderators asked not be posted, it’s an instant suspension at best. Most of the time it’s an instant ban and they really don’t care to hear your reasoning and excuses. I think it was kind of them to explain the situation and just delete the links.
Look at the drama when the Iphone 4 prototype was lost years ago.
Yea in this instance the tool isn’t what they’re freaking out about here. They aren’t the first to market with this exact style of unit so the whole trade secret thing is a bunch of BS on that level. Billy almost always follows what Bobby is doing. Big shocker there.
The secret sauce here is the batteries, which were clearly massive and not something that has been seen before. This is what they’re really worried about. (though the pictures were pretty horrible, somebody said something about fans which I didn’t see).
I know for a few tools this battery is worth it (blower, grinder, I’m looking at your thirsty asses) but for 95% of what dewalt has to offer, honsestly there is NO way I’m carrying around that car battery which is sure to cost $200 and take 2 hours to charge.
Just saying. And clearly Dewalt is listening very intently here since it doesn’t take them but a matter of an hour or two to start pounding the freak out button on their keyboards at the sign of any leakage, which is monitored constantly apparently. I’m going to slip on my tinfoil hat now and stand by the window fully loaded and wait for the illuminati to come.

The charger was fan cooled not the battery. The batteries had the vents. Just like the old 24 volt stuff…
Ohh I didn’t even look at the charger close, it seemed to be the same general shape and style of the normal one at my quick scan of the eye. Guess they’re producing a rapid charger finally! That right there is some great news, way way better than the battery itself.
I’m always late to the party.
Damn I missed it. I’m completely understand not talking about it and all that. The tools in action reputation with dewalt and all the other brands is that most important thing it’s one of the biggest reason all of this is possible. It really sucks I missed the picture or post and now I don’t know what we are talking about

It’s just a cordless version of the Hole Hog style drill with oversized batteries and new charger.

What do you mean “just….?” That’s pretty major if you ask me lol.

Well, yea…but it’s all things that are at market already. Nothing insane or innovative here, just more copycat catch up games.
Huh I saw that post, didn’t realize at the time the significance or that it was stolen prototype. Same drills we use for rough in plumbing, but cordless.

Dang I just figured out why the fuel gauge looked incomplete or missing on the batteries…they’re holes for ventilation when the fan kicks in. Must be a light sunk in a bit …that button pushes in to get to it.
If anyone just so happened to snag a screenshot, I’d be very grateful if it happened to end up in my PM. [emoji16]

Cut off the cord and imagine a battery receiver at the end. Looks exactly like that.
surprise it was as bulky as it was, although if they are trying to separate from milwaukee’s hole hang design…
I think DeWalt was upset about the pic of this new drill?

Maybe not. I’ve seen a few prototypes from DeWalt and they let me take photos of them with no concerns.
They were probably more upset that it was stolen and pawned.

I test tools for Dewalt in the UK, and we have to sign NDA’s (Non disclosures).. This particular ‘episode’ is part of a bigger picture which will all become apparent ‘soon’… It’s not just Dewalt who would be upset at this problem, as any of the Manufacturers would feel the same.. Big Up to TIA for respecting their relationship with Dewalt, and acting accordingly…
The fact that this particular unit hit the headlines and ended up where it did will surely spark some ‘reviews’ of who, what, when and where…
This time next year the full picture will become clear…. ‘Mum’s the Word’….

By type you mean their changing to an alternate battery technology, or just playing catch-up on amp wars? I mean we saw the batteries in the picture but…seemed like an amp deal to me given how colossal the size of the batteries were.
Yeah until I see it on a tools in action YouTube video, lol or at least the toolguyd, I’m skeptical hehe…..

Rumors are some new battery that can give more power to tools but will be backwards compatible with existing 20v Max tools. Some tumors where voltage switching packs where they are either 4ah 18/20v and 2ah 36v. Just some rumors I heard
Ive told you all to be patient 😛 the innovation is coming…
