Is it worth getting a miter stand for my miter saw? Ive been debating whether or not to get one. Ive been lugging around 6×4 table everytime everytime i needed the saw. The only thing holding me back is the price I own a Bosch 5312 and the price for a bosch stand is around 300$. Can anybody tell me from expirience if the extentions and wheels are worth the money.
I have the Bosch gravity rise stand with the same saw and its really nice, but I manged to get it both during a sale where you got the stand free with the purchase of the saw. That Bosch saw is big and heavy I cant imagine using it without my stand. It will take up a lot of space in your pickup bed or trailer though its not a small setup.
I have the Dewalt rolling miter saw stand and I also have their heavy duty stand they both sell for a round $200. They are both nice stands The rolling stand does take up a lot of room but the trade off is that it makes it easy to move it a round. I have cut 2×12 lumber using it with no problem and long as it is on flat ground.
My miter stand is a portable, fold up, style. It came standard with my Dodge 😆
If you dont need wheels, check out the Ryobi miter saw stand for under $100. Id say its definitely worth having one. No more having a friend hold the piece you’re cutting or trying to stack something underneath it.
Any stand is worth it. I hate cutting trim while kneeling on the floor. It kills your knees and back. I have the heavy duty dewalt stand and it has been a back saver. I also have the smaller version too. Both are strong and sturdy stands. I also like how they support long material with the extensions.
I have gone back and forth on getting a folding stand with wheels. I would like being able to fold it up and store it against a wall. But they are fairly expensive. Does anyone have info on models that store easy. I have also toyed with building a stand, but have not got that motivated yet.
I can’t go without my stand and I love the fact it has wheels as well…….total bonus….
I would buy the T4B or GTA3800
Yep got my dewalt stand free last year with saw. Glad I waited, saved me $200.00. It’s got the extension on each end. Definitely a life saver and time saver.
that’s what im hoping to get chad;)
Lowes was offering the smaller miter tand for free, when u bought the saw. I think that deals still going on. I have a couple of the smaller stands, there not bad just no extensions.
I saw that too
went to sears over the weekend and they had the Dewalt 12 inch slider and the big stand on clearance but it was still past my budget of 589$ I coudnt do it man..
to bad man – but once you have it; you are not going to regret it 😛
if I cant get a better deal by jan then im gonna go for it but my patience is running loooow…
do you have any projects coming up where you can use it for?
My bro inlaw is lookin to buy a fix or upper soon so that will be my next big project plus my buddy will be knocking down walls and renovating in feb plus I just really wanna upgrade from my craftsman 🙂
ya then you really need one 😛
I have the Dewalt rolling miter stand for smaller cuts but when doing criwn and long stock, 12′ or more, I break out the folding stand as the rnd extend out further and have stops on them.
