Hi guys,

yes I’m a annoying diy guy, I have 2 Bosch tools, what they are is irrelevant. One has 1.5 ah battery the other 2.5 can I use the same charger for both despite what the instructions say?

Their rotary hammer drills are very good tools and seem to last forever. I love my Bosch Sawzall also. Now their battery stuff, I’m not a fan

If they are part of the same battery platform then the answer should be yes. There might even be a charger that does both 18v and 12v. If you happen to have either of those Bosch platforms.

I realized alluance might be a typo. Possibly meant alliance. Anything under the Cordless alliance branding should be compatible. That’s the design of the system. One Battery fits many brands.

Yes, with Bosch that was not the case at all. But with Makita was not the same, some of their cordless tools were only working with 3.0 Ah or lower and some with all batteries including 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 Ah batteries, They had to have a star or a yellow plastic or both in their battery slots to be compatible with higher capacity batteries.
