Hi everyone.

I would like to ask for help – How to disable or remove the antirestart future from my Makita 9565CVR.

I do not need this safety option because this grinder will be installed stationary on a stand with the start(On/Off) button separately.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

The Makita 9565CV 5″ Angle Grinder includes a soft start to improve gear life and have smooth start ups.

The requested modification will eliminate the UL approval and will likely also delete that feature.

It is likely that a much better solution would be to select a different tool, that instead has the desired start on applied power.

Thanks for an answer. Can you recommend a 125mm Makita grinder that can fit my needs?

YW

My suggestion is to try some tools in a big box home improvement store to determine what works for this application.

As an example, my old DeWALT DWE4214 4½” (115mm) Small Angle Grinder starts upon application of power, regardless of switch position. They may have changed that on later revisions.

That means I need an angle grinder without soft start and antirestart futures, right?

Or, is there any other way to start the grinder from an external button?

The anti-restart feature is definitely not compatible w/ the external on/off switch.

A grinder that has soft start w/o anti-restart feature would work.

Still not clear… Can I remove the antirestart part and connect the wires to the next point?

Probably not. The online documentation doesn’t include a wiring diagram.

It MIGHT be possible to reverse engineer the tool, to permit bypassing the part ID 41, the part number 631383-3 controller, but that is likely a huge undertaking of skills and effort.

My recommendation remains to select a different tool, that just starts when power is applied if the switch is left in the on position.

Right, then for me will be better to buy a band saw.

Thanks Wingless
