Is it a big powered train? Is it a Cadillac? No, it’s a Craftsman 22″ lawn mower, but it sure resembles a Cadillac. Okay not really, but in terms of lawn mowers it has all the bells and whistle. First, let’s talk about the engine. The lawn mower is powered by a Briggs & Stratton quiet engine. Yes, the engine is quiet compared to other lawn mowers, but not as quiet as the commercials claim. Starting it up can’t be any easier, just push a button. Yep that’s right it has a push button start for a gas powered lawn mower. I know what you are thinking which is the same thing I was thinking, more toys means more to go wrong. Well, you have to live a little and not let that get in the way.
The all-wheel drive is great. While it would be nice for it to move a little faster, it still holds a great pace. The one down side to any AWD system is they tend to be a little harder to pull backwards. You can bag, mulch and side discharge with this unit. It even has a deck wash. Overall the lawn mower feels solid and anyone would be happy to own a lawn mower of this quality. All in all this is our winner of the gas powered mowers for Tools in Action mower week. The unit is quiet, powerful and packed with great features.

Great in depth write up guys, loving mower week and looking forward to more great reviews.
I think they could have done a better job routing the cables on the mower. They look way too easy to snag on things the way they have it set up.
I have the huqvarna version this and I love it it will climb a hill like nobody’s business. Has lots of power so you can plow through some deep grass. Starts up on first or second pull (mine doesn’t have the electric start). And great video!
have 8 year old craftsman lawn mower ..still runs perfect.oil changed at first of season.
21 inch mulcher..had 2 air filters replaced usually blow them out with air..when they
look torn or ratty..replace it.raining here ..sun comes back, it will be mowing time again
2nd mow this season….cheers
