Werner Pro Work Platform

Werner is the leader in the ladder and platform industry.  They are known for their wide range of products and prices.  They sell anything from homeowner models to the more expensive professional models.  A while back we had the chance to review some of their platforms, they are a little different than these platforms we are looking at today.  If you have been following us for a while, you know I am doing a ton of work on my house.  One of the handiest tools I used, was the Werner platforms, the Werner Pro Work platform.

I used the heck out of those platforms from when I was gutting the house and knocking down plaster high up, to painting, hanging drywall, molding and more.  I never thought I would get so much use out of a product.  While they were handy, the biggest surprise and what I loved the most was they never let me down.

Once they were open, I knew the legs were locked and it wouldn’t collapse as it did with a different brand.  I also loved no matter how dirty the platforms got, they would always open and close.  Lastly, I loved how easy they are to close.  Sometimes space was limited and it was nice to close the platforms up and toss them in the corner.

So with that, all said, let’s take a look at these Werner Pro Platforms.

Werner Pro Work Platform – First Impressions

Right out of the package, you can feel this platform is solid.  While it is lightweight, you can feel that the aluminum is thick and not cheap.  You can tell it will last.  The top of the platform has ridges so it’s not slippery, which is a huge plus.

When you open up the legs, it does take some pressure, which to me, it means it’s a tight fit, which I like.  Once the platform is open, there is absolutely no rocking when setting up, which means it is more stable, a huge plus.

I also love how compact this platform will get when folded up.  I can’t tell you how many times it was nice to fold up, toss in the corner and save space during my house remodeling project.  While there are more features to this platform, these are the top items that I look for in a working platform.

While I am a huge fan of this platform, there is one change I would like to see changed or something I don’t understand.  There is a red knob to open and close each leg.  For some reason, they are on opposite sides of the platform.  It would be nice if they were on the same side so when I try to open or close the platform, I can lay it on its side and open or close both legs without having to flip it over.

Other than that little nitpicking, there is really only positives to this platform and I can’t think of anything I don’t like about the platform.

Werner Pro Work Platform – Wrap Up

When it comes to platforms, you want one that is strong, easy to operate and a platform you can trust.  As noted earlier, I have had a lot of experience with Werner platforms and I am a solid believer.  During my house rehab, different contractors brought in different brands.  While some were good, I did experience some that were unsafe, even some newer models.

For all the work I did with the Werner platforms and everything they went through, they held up, the feet never broke free and they were solid, even when I was jumping from one to the other.  So if you ask if you should buy this platform?  I would easily say yes.  They are solid, steady and last. The only one I would suggest over this platform, is their Werner platform that is a little wider, the ones we reviewed before.  I like having more workspace, but sometimes you don’t have the luxury and this narrow platform is much better.
