Senco F-16A 5P0001N Cordless Nailer – The Future in Cordless Nailing

0

When Eric told me I was going to review an F-16 I was very excited.  I went right to Ebay to find a flight suit and helmet.  Then it dawned on me that he was talking about the Senco Fusion F-16A nailer.  I was still very excited because the Fusion is an innovative out of the box technology that is in a league of its own.  Sure there are other cordless nailers but the Fusion does not need fuel and doesn’t have a ramp up delay like flywheel nailers.  I have been using the Fusion F-18 for over a year now with no issues and it has been a great tool to have with me and no fuel to expire.  The F-16 is the middle gauge nailer in the line and is powered by a single 18V Lithium-Ion battery which charges up to 80% in 15 minutes and is fully charged in 45 minutes.  The quick 15 minute charge feature is awesome and allows you to finish your job.  So how does it do it you ask?  Well it has a pressurized cylinder on the top of the tool that when you pull the trigger the battery sends a charge to a lock pin that releases the cylinder then the pressure puts it back into the lock

The F-16A holds 110 nails and weighs in at a hefty 6.2lbs, however it is easy to use and well balanced.  The thumb drive dial on the nose allows you to adjust the depth of the nail.  This works well and gives you a visual of where you are.  On the right is the off, bump and single shot switch.  Loading nails is a breeze, just insert them into the tool and pull back on the slide.  That’s it your ready to go and if you jam, no problem just release the magazine and your jam is quickly cleared.  We did not experience any jams.  So how does it do it you ask?  Well it has a pressurized cylinder on the top of the tool that when you pull the trigger the battery sends a charge to a lock pin that releases the cylinder.  No smell or extra fuel to buy, in this economy anywhere you can save is a good thing.

The F-16A comes with a battery, charger and a nice oversized bag that holds more than just the nailer.  Remember to always switch the nailer off when you are done with it, I kept leaving it on and coming back to a dead battery the next time I had to use it.  Overall I like all the Senco fusions, they do the job and save me money in the long run. Senco covers the nailer with a 2 year warranty.
