When I think of Hilti, I think of concrete, steel, and professional tools for those applications. I don’t really think of Jig Saws. Yes, they are used on the job site but that isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Hilti. When we had a chance to look at the Hilti 22V Jig Saw, model SJT 6-A22, I was intrigued. So let’s take a look at the Hilti Cordless Jig Saw.
Hilti Cordless Jig Saw Overview
When it comes to professional power tools and job site solutions, Hilti is considered one of the best. They have everything from the power tools, to the accessories, to the knowledge of what is needed to get the job done and they also have the people to back the company.
Hilti is one of those tools that screams quality. They are built to last and built to work.
Hilti Cordless Jig Saw Features
The Hilti SJT 6-A22 offers a stroke rate of 3000 SPM with a stroke length of 1-3/32″. One nice feature of this saw is the AVR or Active Vibration Reduction. This lowers the vibration associated with jig saws and offers a better experience for the user.
The jig saw is powered by a Hilti 22V battery. We used it with a 2.6Ah battery but this will also work with a 4Ah or 8Ah battery.
The tool uses a slide on/off switch which is located on the handle.
For me, I am a fan of T-grip handles or the D-handles. Lucky for me, the Hilti uses a T-grip handle.
On the base of the tool, there is a dial to adjust the variable speed.
On the side of the saw, you can adjust the orbital action from off, all the way to 3.
On the front of the jig saw is the blade release. One of my favorite features is chuck. To insert a blade, just push and it will click and lock in place. No messing with levers or buttons to install a blade.
The front clear plastic cover can be removed.
The dust blower is also a nice added feature to this saw which makes it much easier seeing a line.
Hilti Cordless Jig Saw Performance
As discussed above, Hilti has a lot of their own accessories, which we used on this saw. When it comes to accessories, Hilti offers some of the best on the market.
So when it comes to performance, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I know Hilti is quality but wasn’t sure how the Jig Saw would stack up compared to other saws we have used.
All I can say, this is one of the best Jig Saws we have used. This saw is powerful and smooth. I love the long barrel handle which makes it easy to control. I was surprised how long the run time was even with the smaller 2.6Ah battery. This saw has the toughness of Hilti but the precision of Festool.
Hilti Cordless Jig Saw Value
You can pick this saw up at The Home Depot for about $245. However, I would suggest contacting your local Hilti sales rep or a Hilti store near you if you are going to buy this tool.
You can probably find some of the big names for about $50 cheaper than this saw. However even though those companies have big names and are well known, their Jig Saws don’t match up to this Hilti in regards to quality and performance. So yes, I am more than willing to pay an extra $50 for this saw.

I know Hilti is one of the best power tool brands for a variety of reasons. This jig saw just proves why so many professionals run to Hilti for their needs. This saw is a beast. The saw is powerful, easy to work with, and easy to control. What else do you want in a Jig Saw? If you are looking for a tough saw that is smooth and powerful, this is the Jig Saw to own.
