GR Manufacturing UTV Roof – Mule Project

Test Fit

I needed a roof for the Mule Project for a few reasons.  One was to mount the Kolpin lights to and the other was to protect our heads from the sun.  I looked around and did some research.  First I came upon the OEM roof which was high priced and not recommended for towing, knowing that I like to take the Mule out for car rides I knew this was not an option.  Next I came across some diamond plate roofs which looked rugged and sturdy but weight is an issue for me, if only I could have a light roof that was strong.  I was browsing a Mule forum when I came across UTVproducts.com home of GR Manufacturing a company that makes UTV roofs and other accessories, everyone was raving about them.  I called up and spoke with Gary owns the company  I asked him all sorts of questions and learned a lot about how the products are designed including how they are aerodynamically designed in CAD and how they have an added UV inhibitor when they are extruded.

A week later my GR manufacturing roof arrived, I was surprised at how light it was, in fact I lifted it on the Mule myself with ease.  The roof comes with 6 mounting clamps and all the hardware.  It even includes a 12V dome light which is a nice added feature.  Once you have the roof on top of the UTV you can attach all the clamps but do not tighten them until you have it in the position you want.  The roof is remarkably rigid and strong thanks to the molded ribs that add the extra strength.  The lip of the roof is curved into a rain channel that helps keep the rider dry.

Now here is the best part, the roof is molded to allow for overhead lights.  This fit our Kawasaki  Mule 610 XC project perfectly as you can see from the pictures it looks great.  To wrap up the roof is great, its strong and does not rattle at all.  It is a perfect fit for any UTV, and they are made in the USA.
