Here are a few more of the primitive projects I’ve done.

Jack o’lantern (I’ve made several of these)

Snowmen (gave these as Christmas gifts last year)

Made these to display old pop bottles. I’ve also made them for Coca-Cola but I can’t find any pics.

Love it when folks get stuck in and make something. 🙂
Those look like some nice pieces. 😎 How did you finish the hutch and bathroom cabinet? It looks kind of like stain, maybe followed by a little sand paper to give it that distressed look.
Seems everyone finishes this distressed or “primitive” stuff a little differently. I use flat exterior latex (typically Behr) then I use a 1/4 sheet palm sander to distress it. I then cover the whole thing with Minwax special walnut and wipe it as I go.
Have you ever tried any of the “milk paint” style finishes. I hear they distress well using a similar two coat approach. You could even add some age type crackling to them as well, I believe.
I’m not familier with them at all. Got any links?

Man that is awesome. Wish I had time to mess around and do fun stuff
I don’t have much time either. These projects probably span 2 years.
