2016 Milwaukee Product Symposium

DR99Member since Nov 2012

TIA is on the later group so they are not getting the new tools at first. I’m kinda pissed Milwaukee updated the stand light already with cordless tech a even better head design. Sometimes they are worse than apple with new products.

I’ll be buying the polisher. Interested in the weedeater as well, but it appears that the battery in use is their 9.0 battery on it. Was I reading right in some of the photos that with the 9.0 that the tool is capable of using it at 54V?? 18×3 through the use of the battery taps rather than straight 18v??

Mike, nope.  It’s 18V.  Three rows of cells to get the extra capacity.  Our XC packs have 2 rows.

Edit: I think I see the image you are referring to in #NPS16.  They are saying that the pack designer could configure the pack that way if they chose to.  Series versus parallel.

See a drywall cut-out tool (Rotozip style) and a drywall gun. Couple new lights. Nice!

This year i think dewalt is gonna give us a beter show.

The mitre saw and polisher are awesome and innovative.

The rest is a bit ‘meh’

BremonMember since Dec 2014

The stand light update is obnoxious. Early adopters spend a pile of cash, the guys on the fence get one that is improved and charges batteries, and has dual power. The original didn’t do AC did it? Only the high power flood did that?

Higher capacity batteries for M12 was expected but exciting nonetheless. Although, have we seen 3.0 M18 compacts?

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Yea I’m really pissed on the stand light I bought 2 of them last winter. Now they put out a new update in a year with ac power and a charger that sucks big time

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Surprised no updated high torque wrenches this even with one key.

BremonMember since Dec 2014

I’m surprised by that as well, though I thought I read there are 30 new Fuel tools? Even if 4 are nailers, then BS like one key sawzall I think I’ve only seen maybe 10?

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Yea, unless they have more hidden I don’t see it

BremonMember since Dec 2014

Some exciting new tools coming out for sure but thus far I’m a little underwhelmed. Lots of lights and reminders of things that were announced at the last symposium a la 9.0, cheater wrench, etc. in a lot of the pics I’m seeing.

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

New tools:

Mitre saw

Polisher

The pump to heave over liquids

Drywall gun

Drywall cutter

Hedge trimmer

Weed Wacker

Leaf blower

The new 4400 lumen licht

Thats what ive found on instagram for new tools.

Bunch of updates lights and one key sawzall 🙂

I think they realized they needed to update then as soon as they went into user hands. Not putting ac power connect was a big mistake

Get on periscope and watch TIA live

Anyone know if Team Yellow has similar nps upcoming? Or maybe the “WTF is this?!” June 21 deal is it.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

That’s when Dewalts big event is June 21

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Did Dan delete a periscope video because the video about the new Milwaukee lights is gone.

For as much as they cost, they better be better than the lighting from anyone else.

You can cut the cost though by buying during a promotion Milwaukee is probably the most aggressive company when it comes to deals. Most of the time if you buy a kit with milwaukee you can get something free.

Im sure glad I held off on the stand light last year. I know that I will pick one up this year.

sparky603Member since Jun 2014

Yet another light I missed earlier on. Looking forward to a complete list with expected pricing and ETA’s.

There really was a plethora of lights on display. That durable m12 one looks pretty wild. Also interesting was the utility light for bucket trucks etc. The search light sparky posted looks like my kind of flashlight. Big, tough and versatile..

DR99Member since Nov 2012

This NPS was a lot of specialty tools this year not a lot of mainline tools got attention. You never know though Milwaukee does drop new tools with out showing them at the NPS during the year like the Fuel Nailers.

BremonMember since Dec 2014

Yeah that’s true. Seemed like half the show was things we’ve seen, and new lights haha. Admittedly, some of the lights looked excellent.

Surfer (aka Nalu)Member since Jan 2016

Man I’ve been so absent, I didn’t even know that there was a new symposium happening.

Can’t wait to check out the new offerings.

I just saw the TIA video of the Milwaukee 10″ Miter. I like that it has a 10″ blade, because they are much easier to come by as opposed to 7-1/4″ Miter saw blades. (Difference in Miter vs Circular Saw blades being in the rake angle). I really hope that it’s light weight and compact, the DeWalt is very portable. And I like that they stole the DeWalt light/shadow system as well.

MikeInCtownMember since Mar 2016

Just a random thought, but what if some new Milwaukee product was actually the same thing as the “DeWalt world’s first” and now the DeWalt launch would be the world’s second?

What’s the point of a one-key Sawzall??? Anti-theft is nice but different modes? I could see a ramp up mode that would somehow limit slip if that’s even possible but aside from the initial bite into something new the trigger is always at 100% unless it binds and takes me for a ride. I don’t see how it’s beneficial otherwise.

Their example was you can program specific speeds to the material you are cutting, they were cutting stainless steel @ 1500 spm

That would be hilarious. Surely they feel pretty safe no one is gonna steal their thunder. I’m a Milwaukee fan, but nonetheless, I’m very curious what it is.

Well announcing the 9 amp is one thing but maybe dewalt has stock ready and can put it into stores in july ( if a dewalt 9 amp is a thing )

BremonMember since Dec 2014

So true korno, not only would it be funny but it would be a real black eye for Milwaukee considering the thing was announced a year ago.

Speaking of which, the 9ah battery was delayed because the cells they got for testing were not the same they got for production, so they had to remedy that error first, which took some time to get straightened out apparently. Idiots whoever supplies the cells, good on Milwaukee for not releasing under powered batteries
