ok so I have walked by this stuff 100’s of times and never had the nerve to buy it, I don’t know what the hell I’m doing buying the most expensive wood in the world.
I bought a piece 1/4″ thick 2″ wide 10″ long for a mere $22.76 lets see how much of the sawdust I can save. you want to talk gold dust…lol
I will post a project of some kind soon…….
Interested to see what you do with it, what kind of wood is it?

African ebony, the real deal. hard as glass, so dense it does not float and the blacker it is the more it costs.
Beautiful wood comp. you’re right it’s hard as all f$&k. Used mostly for inlays and accents.

Oh man,im excited to see what you come up with, ebony is beautiful stuff.
That wood is making me drool
I’ve always wanted to see a piece made out of burlwood accented with ebony.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with. One of my favorite hardwoods.
That would be some really nice inlay that would go a LONG way!!
well it wasn’t that bad, spit out a hand shaped ring polished it up and it turned out like a stone……..I will be making these more often I think probably the best looking ring I have made hard as rock and water proof………

Anything else you make with that should be cool
That is really cool comp!
Have you ever considered doing humidors? It seems like an exercise in creativity and people will pay good money for them. Might be a way to finance your experimenting with high end hardwoods. I can recommend some great cigar forums(similar to the friendly community here) if you want to look into it. I think you have the skill set to be able to do high end humidors.
Here’s a link to a gentleman that started doing it as a hobby and I believe he ended up quitting his day job and doing this full time. http://www.waxingmoonhumidors.com/home
Notice his pretty reasonable prices at around $500-$650 for a 19.5″ X 12″ X 8″ humidor.
Comps humidors would be awesome I’m sure

Slick Comp. your going to have to put a diamond on your lovely brides ring though! Makes sense, hardest wood serviced by the hardest stone. Now that spells love bro!
