It seems like everyday I come home to find an unexpected repair. Someone ran over my mailbox and stood it back up like no one will notice. My luck needs to change, things have been breaking non stop around the house. 2016 needs to end already..lol Time for a steel pole and 160 pounds of concrete

I’d almost rather not even have a damn mail box.

JimboS1iceMember since Sep 2015

I have A mailbox right on my house so no worries about that for me.

I’m sorry that happen to you Justin, at least no one was hurt. It will get better brother, you just have to believe.

Sorry to hear that Justin. For your next one use reinforced concrete with a decorative facade. Next time it happens will be the last time it happens 😉

That reminds me of my older’s brother solution from having his mailbox destroyed every year from the discharge of the snow plows that went up his street.

He had his shop weld up a mailbox post using 4x4x1/2″ square tubing and then a mail box was constructed of 3/8″ steel plate, The post was then set in about 5′ of concrete. I think the entire setup weighed in about 200 pounds.

Hahahaha. Your older brother sounds like a cop!

LOL – Nope a mechanical engineer. 🙂

You should see the heating plant in his house, You need to have a degree from NASA in order to operate it.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Well I was definitely off on that one! I figure if I have to rebuild my mailbox it’s going to be armored to the hilt. That was the next brain surgeon that hits it will break both arms or loose a bumper 😉

It’s always disappointing to come home and see some bozo destroy your property.

KnarlyCarlMember since Jan 2016

Wow that’s too bad, hope you can repair without to big of a hassle.

Tree trimming company came thru to clear branches away from power lines and managed to crush my mail box a little. Luckily they replaced it for us.

The war on mailboxes is bigger than the war on drugs. Its big money for mailbox manufactures

I will be installing a motion sensor shot gun behind the mailbox, the mailman will have to duck his head everyday..lol

That sucks man. We had to replace our post last winter, them mailbox was fine though. My dad got it with the blade on our tractor while clearing the snow off our driveway and he hit it while turning around. We have gone through at least three mailboxes in the last ten years. Our mailbox was hit a couple of years ago and this time we just left it instead of replacing it.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

My uncle works for a drilling company and his post is an old auger off a drill rig. Needless to say it hasn’t been taken out.

chrismccabe484Member since Aug 2015

I have my mailbox get run over 3 times and blown up with firecrackers once so my solution was to put my mailbox by a tree and put a steel pole in with concrete hasent been hit ever sinve
