Early works for a little pull out drawer for my new air compressor, in the garage that’s not mine that I use space is limited, plan on throwing a few drawers on top for some air tool storage, just a rough drawing of what I’m thinking, still have to figure out some measurements and if my plan will fit in the space where I want it.

Not shown in the drawing but I’ll probably put a little extra bracing in the back.

I built a sliding platform in a 36″ cabinet to support a cast iron 4″ joiner years ago. The side supports were made from ash and liberally waxed to allow the tool to be used in place or to be removed and set on a separate support if more space were needed. The picture isn’t the best, as the cabinet is currently blocked by equipment stored in my garage, but it should give the general idea for the support.
At two thirds extension the platform did not need any extra support legs and I used hardwood (ash) support material on the perimeter of the plywood as well as across the center areas. Overall it was fairly compact in height and also designed to clear the hinges used for the door that covered it when not in use.

Work in progress… Bailed on original design because it wouldn’t have fit so I just decided to make a rolling cart with two friction drawers in top

My “shop” is on wheels; the service van I drive is my workbench, tool storage, hardware bins, parts and etc

Nice project Jimbo. Did paint it red yet? How’s that husky hybrid hose?
How much did you pay for your Husky compressor Jimbo its marked down to $139 now http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-4-6-Gal-Portable-Electric-Air-Compressor-4610A/205532432?cm_mmc=CJ-_-4485850-_-10368321&AID=10368321&PID=4485850&SID=7720dfc2bd9e11e5b6b6bac357c990e30000&cj=trueMight want to get a price adjustment.
$0 Jason, it was a Christmas present
Mondo nah I should paint it red and print an Fuel airzall sticker – the husky hose is better now that it has been stretched out and pressurized, prior to a little break in it wasn’t my favorite hose tends to get a little tangled from time to time, for the cost is just grab a flexzilla, nice thing with the husky was the holiday bundle came with some fittings and a blow gun.

That’s cool I wasn’t sure there was a guy looking at compressors and I recommended that one as the best buy. I just couldn’t remember who it was he wanted to buy some cheap compressor at first.
Nice build
OOh pretty! It just kind of flows right up to your milwaukee organizers, so that’s a good color!

Cool idea, you did a great job! This would work perfect in my little shop.
Jimbo how do you like that Husky air hose? I just got 100′ of Flexzilla pro and it’s absolutely superb…but I’m always wondering how comparable the Husky is.

I have a 25′ flex and really you can’t tell the difference, I know it was “confirmed” the husky isn’t a rebranded flexzilla but you could fool me, great hose for the price

I’m really happy with it. I still have a 12 year old porta cable compressor that works fine. But the California air is nice and quiet. The cart is great for for finish work as its easy to move the compressor and tools around from room to room.

Killer build. Have you thought about putting a hose real on it? I also saw a video on YouTube where a guy took an electric real and swapped plugs so that you pulled the male end out and it could real back up kinda like a vacuum.

Yes but space is tight right now so no reel for it, at some point I’d like to but a more permanent power cord situation
