I’m not that good at remembering to take pictures of my work or things that I’am fixing. I always forget or I just get busy and start working then when I’m done I’m like I should have took a before picture. This was a small job just hang up a bunch of lights and fix some violations. I came across this fan which was installed wrong in every way and it did not have a proper fan box. So I start taking the fan apart and I notice the neutral wire is pinched between the down rod and the motor bracket and just hanging out. I don’t know how you do not notice this during install, all the weight of the fan was sitting on the wire and close to shorting out
I hate doing ceiling fans they are so awkward to work on by yourself. You really need a 3rd hand installing them!!!
I dont see nothing. Lol
when I put up a 72″ ceiling fan in our living room…..no lights just blades, it came with about 8 feet of extra wire? how is that even going to fit in that little cap if you didn’t want to snip the wires to length….
Here are some good ones

Hanging up fixtures suck, they take forever and if you forget to put one part on a fan you have to take it all down and put it up again. Some fans can take over an hour to hang up and when it comes to big expensive chandeliers forget about it.

You have no choice sometimes but to cut it, I have the same problem when it comes to chandeliers people really don’t want me to cut the wire. On the last one I did I got creative, it is not code approved but it works. I just take a knock out off the box put a plastic connector on it and stuff the extra wire in the attic 🙂

Sadly I’ve seen that stuff before, I really need to remember to take pictures of the stuff I find. That extension cord was for a light right??
These pictures made me cringe!

Haha, I’ve seen an angle stop installed in a old electrical box once. Was that box energized??
WTF.
I guess the guy never saw a 90 elbow before or a tape measure. The stud on the left is about 6″ too short as well.
wait isn’t this the new tankless hot water with the cover off?
I believe you’re correct!
So many hack jobs out there. I can’t believe people take short cuts when it comes to electrical work.
what never seizes to amaze me is when people have no clue on how to do something do it anyway!
And then there’s nature.
I found this on a whole house generator today. It wasn’t running to say the least
