Just to understand your problem.. Your grinder have 1000 more that it says on the box? And your problem is?
problem is – it can be a fake product…. i can’t find anywhere 8000 / min for this product, even in dewalt catalogue…

Ebay from Powertoolmate with 3 year guarantee…. Registered tool ok . I sent question to dewalt as well and to seller – maybe it is new line or something…
It is the new type 10.. The grinder is shorter and has 4 polet engine..
So don’t be sad.. be glad:-)

Thank you for your time mate you’re very helpful…
i hate it when dewalt does a major change like a different motor, but keeps the model number the same. i’ve seen table saws and miter saws go from 13amp to 15amp, with only a type change. cordless 20v saw and sawzall go to higher rpms with only a type change. etc.
