I am speculating that they were incorrectly shipped to the wrong store. No place on the planogram for them hence an inactive sku.

Purely luck, I can tell you that. The opportunity was there and all my previous deal searching gave me the preparation. That store will most likely put my picture up and watch me like a hawk next time I go in there.

The first time through, the woman stopes me at SCO and said, are you buying those? I replied yes ma’am. She questioned the penny and I said they’re on clearance. End of conversation.

I don’t know if you do. It’s so incredibly addicting. If I wasn’t in the industry and able to frequent HD’s daily or multiple locations in a day, there’s no way id find these close outs.

I only have one that I go to, but I’m literally there everyday. I get an hour for lunch so I eat my sandwich while I walk across the street and go walk around HD. Figure if I’m there I might as well make it worth my while.

I think there is a guy around my parts doing this – He has a bunch of those (now discontinued) DeWalt Mechanics sets – the 156 and 204 piece ones on Craigslist, along with the 10 piece wrench set. I was wondering how he has so many of them, my co-worker bought a set from the guy, and yup, they are legit DeWalt tools. We thought he must have stole them, but I don’t think anyone is that stupid to put that many ads on a selling site. He actually shows a picture that he has over 15 sets of them in the ad.

I don’t think HD carried the Dewalt mechanics tools. I think that was a deal through Sears. I could be wrong though.

I’m pretty sure I got mine from HD. I think 77Ford claims he bought a few sets from HD as well.

Sears….. Is where I bought mine.

Home Depot does sell them online I believe. Last year around Black Friday they would bundle the with DeWalt 20 volt kits at a great price.
