I Want to but a new circular saw and i dont know which one to buy
the One+ 5-1/2″
or the One+ 6-1/2″
I happen to have a fuel 6-1/2″ and am really happy with it…. cutting performance, run time with a XC or 4.0ah weight, and especially line of sight…..

the only difference is the 5-1/2″ has laser? thats the only difference?
Are you looking specifically at the Ryobi line or any saw in that size range?ofektal8 wrote:

I would get the Ryobi 6 1/2 better blade selection and the saw seems to be more powerful in general. You don’t really need a laser to make accurate cuts.
I’m with DR. Get the larger blade. Finding those little blades will be a pain plus the size really limits the use. Oh, and welcome to the forum!
Definitely want to get the larger blade. DR is right it’s much easier to find those blades.

I Will Buy The 6-1/2″ Saw But It says out of stock online on home depot is it out of stock in the store i chose or out of stock on all of home depot stores?
It’s a relatively new product from Ryobi you might want to see if your local store might have got one in it is possible.

I Saw on youtube some videos on the 6-1/2″ one and in my local store they dont have.
Ok. I agree with DR I would go with the 6-1/2″.ofektal8 wrote:

That’s exactly what I was going to say. The 5 1/2″ came with the kit I got. When I went to go get a 100 tooth blade for it, my local Home Depot had a good selection of blades for the 6 1/2″ and 7 1/2″ saws, but only had 1 option for a 100 tooth blade for the 5 1/2″…had I wanted a different brand, I guess I would’ve been out of luck.
sorry didn’t see it was a topic under Ryobi, thought it was a circular saw question in general……..but ya the bigger blade is better for availability and for cutting
Get the bigger blade every time. Hard to find the smaller blades too.
Welcome to the forum!! And like the guys said 61/2 is the way to go!
Yup get the 6-1/2″. If it’s still not in stock at your Home Depot, you can request a special order for any product they sell on the website. It may take 6 to 8 weeks though

I think as long as it doesn’t say out of stock online you can have it shipped to your store.

And I also agree a 6 and 1/2 saw is the way to go, more power, easier to find blades. Lasers are for beginners who dont know how to follow a straight pencil line. 😛
I think lasers are actually a great benefit for sawing. My Kapex is NOT a beginners saw and I have two of them on that. Some people like having that definitive red line especially when the saw might not have a blower and that thin pencil line is obscured by sawdust. My corded Skilsaw Sidewinder doesn’t have laser and it’s a pro grade saw but they solve the sawdust problem with a great blower that pushes the saw dust out of your line of site and a great port for getting rid of the saw dust in the rear. No doubt though, having a positive line to follow isn’t a bad thing either and when a blower or DC isn’t available, I wouldn’t mind having something to follow.
I agree with you Chris, when I have my mitre saw outside the laser is pretty much useless but when I’m in my shop it works great. none of my tools are beginner grade, does it make you a better craftsman? no….. only you can do that but it does come in handy…..should you rely on it …..no …..but it does provide a fairly good guide…..
Do you definitely need a cordless circular saw? I’m not a fan of the ryobi cordless other than small jobs.

It amazes me how many people are afraid to buy new tools online and have to shop at the local hd store. You realize you can find anything and everything in the entire world in which you want to buy online. Local outlets are limmited to what they carry for a reason, they dont got the space. Online stores have stock in warehouses all over the country, so there is no limit what you can find and buy. Besides I never went to any hardware store in my entire life where the customer service was pleasent.
I buy stuff online because of the price is usually cheaper then the store
If you haven’t bought it yet I would recommend this site. I ordered one from there the other day, it is only $34.99 which is a steal. Their stuff is pre-owned, but I have ordered several things from there before and they were all essentially as good as new. I had the older 5 1/2″ one and it did pretty much everything I expected. With the latest 4 mAh battery in it I was able to make over 15 cuts through 2x4s and several cuts through 1/2″ thick plywood and the battery was still more than half full. I sold that in favor of this one which I expect to be at least as good. I only wish Ryobi made it 7 1/4″ instead of 6 1/2″ so there would be an even better blade selection. They have a 7 1/4″ miter saw so I don’t how this would be any different.
I don’t think you need a lazer on a skill saw. You’ll never use it I’d say. And you could probably cut straighter than the laser any how by eye. “Go big or go home”. Lolofektal8 wrote:

I have a laser on my craftsman but unless you cutting long sheets of plywood it’s pointless, has a nice LeD light though that helps
