That’s a great deal man. I haven’t used any of the Cree bulbs. What are your thoughts? Would you still go with them at full price? I have been changing out my bulbs when they go out with led’s. I have always seen the Cree bulbs but never tried them.

I’m not sure I would pay full price for them and it’s not because of quality it’s cause I’m cheap….my son has a cree flash light and loves it…..I know they are always more money than the rest so when I heard about this deal it was a no brainer….
5 dollars off from the government thats great they give you that kind of discount. you only payed $2.10 per bulb i’m surprised you didn’t buy more!
I love them! Just have to be careful with the dimmer and you’ll be all set

Nice buys comp! I have a cree head lamp that’s super bright I use it every other day at the shop.
Nice find. Love the Cree
That is an epic deal, I’ve been slowly changing all of my lights over to LED bulbs. I have yet to change out every fixture but all the ones that run regularly are swapped. Whenever I put in a new light fixture I always put in an LED.
Wow what a deal. Those look very nice, glad you got them at a great discount!
I replaced most of the lights in my house with Cree LED lights.
Are these different than those spirally ones? I forget what they are called, but they sometimes go on sale at Costco for a penny a 5 pack or something crazy like that
no these are not and can’t see it with a regular price of $19.95ea
I just checked, the spirally ones are called CFL bulbs. LED bulbs, the one that you scored the deal on, are far better than the CFL bulbs

oh sorry ya no they are actual glass bulbs with cree LED inside …..
At work i convinced the boss man to go almost all LED. Got like 800$ worth of those bad boys. 60W dim-able I believe. Only issue we’ve had so far is that on a few of our dimmer the lights flicker at certain levels. That might be due to aging dimmer switches though.
LED’s can be a little finicky. They get binned for different characteristics but some just aren’t happy at running at certain lower voltages than others even from the same batches.
I know it is to early to tell but I have installed 14 of the 16 I got and so far so good…….damn I have a lot of light sockets in this house about 12 or 13 per floor……..that’s it hunny we’re sellin and buyin a boler trailer….
Yeah, My power company is STILL all about the crappy CFL bulbs, free bulbs, coupons etc.
Swapped out nearly all my light to LEDs from Costco. Energy consumption is down drastically.
So rad.
Feit is the Costco brand.
Thinking about swapping out fluorescents for LED tubes, but they’re hella expensive.
Good deal.
Do you have quite a few lights? Looking at the consumption rates I couldn’t tell how long it would be before you could see a noticeable decrease in cost.n00b wrote:

Rought estimate, I’ve swapped out 45 bulbs thus far…probably another 12 or so to go.
Can’t guage the differential in cost, just the “energy consumption” graph/numbers showing year-to-year-month-to-month consumption.
in our city we have smart meters, different rates for different time of the day…..as far as I see a money grab they had to come up with because so many people are trying ways to save on utilities……so in saying that you make toast at the wrong time of day and there goes all your savings….
This is what I’m referring too…

The only thing I can attribute it to is the LED swap.
Anywhere u can can cut cost these days helps.

That suuuuucks.
i just picked up some of these light bulbs, i read the reviews first and everyone hated them, so far i think they’re great and i really like the fact that its LED
Home Depot has these if anybody is looking foe led’s

We got “burnt” on the whole CFL thing when they first came out. We replaced all the bulbs in our house, cause they told us the life span was 20+ years and we would save a ton on the electric bill. We paid a lot for them, and they lasted less than 5 years, and we hardly noticed a savings worth justifying the initial cost.
Exactly that’s why they’re called smart meters, they know when to charge the premium rate!comp56 wrote:

CFL’s are pretty effecient now, every bulb in this house is CFL I am pretty sure and I am proud of it. Cleaner looking light, not so much yellow in the rooms. Weather or not there is noticeable savings on power, their might be, I just haven’t noticed it on the bill. The truly energy efficient light is LED, they are true power savers, and they have a life of 50,000 hours. The only problem is, they generally haven’t been bright enough to use as house bulbs. However, I think they are just now starting to come out with some better brighter LED bulbs for the home. But just like with CFL’s, LED bulbs are much more expensive, you figure in 10 to 15 dollars per bulbs, so if you have 20 bulbs to replace in your home, thats going to be a lot of money. I am waiting for the LED technology to come down in price to make it more economical. As I agree, the initial cost can be an ass bighter.
CFL’s are garbage, hotter than a three barrel pistol stuck on auto, you can get some pretty bright LED lighting now, I have 100W equivalent 16W led bulbs in the shop and you can’t look at them they are so bright. we have bright led lighting in our living room as well but 3 fixtures in the ceiling but are only 39w when they are all on. our whole house have been upgraded with LED bulbs and fixtures. 43 in total but Ontario gov issued a $5 coupon to relieve the cost per bulb, I waited until they went on sale for around $8 so $3 each was not bad all daylight bulbs too……….

haha epic failure, they just recently announced to start removing the smart meters because they are a privacy issue. suppose to have them all removed by a certain date…..they will just jack up the rates across the board so you will pay more in the end anyway…..
