So when and where can a guy get his hands on one of these new Milwaukee tool chests? I’m not made of money but I’d splurge a little on this one.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

I haven’t heard anything or seen it anywhere yet. Hopefully they relase it soon.

woodstockvaMember since Mar 2014

They are supposed to get released in June.

Thanks fellas. Maybe next time I’ll ask my question in the right part of the forum haha

Anyone have a pic of what it looks like?

Poisonfangs85Member since Feb 2015

Is this what your lookin for?

snohikerMember since Mar 2015

Looks a lot like the dewalt one except the bottom draws are split

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

There some differ exes in them. The Milwaukee has charger ports mounted on it while the Dewalt has a couple of grommets in the back. The Milwaukee has a peg board in the top too. Also on the Dewalt the two side by side drawers on the bottom runners of the top section are much higher allowing no me to keep a full ratchet set and hole saw kit closed away. I don’t have the bottom chest though 🙁

I think I still like team yellow

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Well as I can recall from the pics of your shop, if you don’t…..your screwed!

They’ve had these at my local home depot for at least a month now.

just came back from HD and was messing with this tool chest.  it’s big and would fit alot of tools, feels pretty sturdy as well but didnt roll it around.  the drawers slide pretty smooth, sticks a little bit but they’ll probably slide better as you load the drawers up.

JerryNYMember since Jun 2015

Yeah , the drawers all seem to work a little more smoothly with at least some weight in them. I think the weight helps with momentum a bit so the drawers glide smoothly until they reach the last 2 inches or so where the self close mechanism sucks the drawer all the way in. There are tons of small nice details that the product has which make you smile every time you use it.

ChrisMember since Jun 2015

Are they coming out with a new tool box before the holidays? I know this box has been a huge hit from what I have read online but I see Home Depot has removed it from their website.

hathatylMember since Sep 2013

No clue on a new model. I’m hoping so but it maybe be next year before they release another batch.

ShuutrMember since Jun 2015

I really thought these would be a fixture in HD for the foreseeable future.  I guess I will try to have the money ready in hopes that they come back at least a few months from now.

Yeah I’d bet they just wanted to dip their toe in the water to see how they would be received. I love mine and maybe even better versions are on the drawing board. They do say Batch A on the side as I’ve posted before so hopefully that means Batch B is being readied:

hathatylMember since Sep 2013

Yeah that’s what I’m hoping. I was gonna check out my friends box to double check that his was also batch A. He bought the last one for sale in town

JerryNYMember since Jun 2015

Yeah I don’t want to be greedy and keep the toolbox an exclusive club 😉 Who knows maybe they’ll even figure out a way to keep the quality and streamline the production and lower the price. They seem to sell pretty fast so stranger things have happened. Just sayin’

Jacob ScutzlasMember since Sep 2015

I think they are a little overpriced/ I don’t love the drawer layout. I think the fullsize box is better value for the money.

JerryNYMember since Jun 2015

What are you referring to as the full sized box? The new 60″ workbench is nice and I might have gotten that instead because I like the top wood work surface but the 46″ is still a great value as you get two largish storage units for $100 more and they aren’t exactly the same kettle of fish so direct comparisons aren’t 100% comparable. The new 30″ is nice too for the price as well.

As someone who has been around snapon boxes all my life and used snapon as a benchmark to compare other boxes to, let me tell you something…IMHO these boxes are almost impossible to beat considering the quality of construction as well as finish compared to the price of the box. Its not just a flashy box, those drawer sliders are meant to handle the weight and again IMO that is the most important part of a box and how it will hold up over a lifetime of tool storage.
