Good deal!

I was down to the Bosch, Makita and Festool Carvex. I bought the Carvex but the Bosch and even the Makita got phenomenal reviews. Good for you. Also love the l boxxes, I have several along with my T Locs and even a Dewalt Tough System and TStak drawer unit,

I think I might end up with one of the Bosch barrel handle style jigsaws before too long… just a matter of which one…

I’d love a Festool, but I can’t imagine I could justify the expense (though I haven’t even looked to see how much) for as little as I would use it.

the 18v jigsaw is awesome too, one of my favourite tools.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

ya the cordless jigsaw is nice

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

I also picked up a few lboxx’s at the weekend

chadlanthierMember since Mar 2013

bosch makes great jigsaws, just a side note they bought the company that first made jigsaws and in the late 80s they invented the toolless blade change…… i love wikipedia

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

bosch invented the jigsaw

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

Yeah i also believen the jigsaw was a Bosch invention 🙂

not actually an invention by Bosch they bought the company that made them…..for 7 years, Albert Kaufmann of Scintilla came up with the invention Bosch bought Scintilla out….

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

i just know that a guy used his wifes sewing machine, mounted a blade in it and there was the jigsaw 😀

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

How’s the dust control on your Bosch Madman? Those are great jigsaws from what I have read but haven’t heard anything about DC.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

the dust control is amazing, I love it. sucks in everything.

kornomaniacMember since Oct 2014

Cool cool 😀

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Good to know Madman, I hadn’t heard anything and the reviews seem to overlook it. I was really tied between Bosch and Makita till I saw Dan Eric do the Carvex with the Midi. Bought it that week.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

ya sometimes you have to invest some more money to get a quality item

RickyMcGrathMember since Oct 2014

Sweet. I like it.

FazzmanMember since Apr 2014

Nice tool, they just had the barrel grip bosch on sale at amazon for like $94 bucks last week. I wish I would have grabbed it.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

they have different models of the barrel grip jig saw, mine was almost 3 times that money

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Yeah, this was the one I was looking at Madman. The other smaller Bosch is supposedly a great little saw but the JA572 is definetely the bees knees.

analog_gamerMember since Jan 2015

Between a barrel-grip 7amp and a top-handle 6amp for the casual, weekend warrior type user…. what would be the better “bang for your buck” of a price difference of $50?

Thanks.

madman_usMember since Sep 2014

depends on what you prefer in your hand. i think its more comfortable when you have a barrel grip jigsaw. thats how i feel

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Welcome aboard analog gamer. Just like Madman says it is really what you think is more co for table. It can take a little getting used to the barrel grip but your closer to the wood and it gives you, in my opinion, what feels like better control of the saw.
