Spotted! DeWALT 20V Max Drywall Gun

Archived from the Tools In Action forum (Dewalt). This thread is read-only.

Already seen briefly in one of DeWALT’s videos, they now added a photo to their Facebook asking which tools drywallers usually carry on the job… that’s no coincidence 😉

No idea when this will hit the shelves. Well not this year in Europe, but I have a feeling this will be an US first tool…

I’ve had the opportunity to briefly test it earlier this year. Can’t say anything just yet, but I’ll tell you that I will ditch my 18V Protool gun when this comes out!

Is Dewalt having a big media event soon? Milwaukee had theirs later this year. I think it was done on purpose so things lined up on the holiday buying season. Dewalt has been doing the press release deal lately.

I like it and it looks very compact and light

I wonder if Dewalt will have an attachment for collated screws. The Bosch brushless drywall gun has that ability.

I will come..

Also notice the oversized metal beltclip. A little thing, but very nice they thought of that.

I want these tools, that rotary tool is already out.

I’m a junky need some helps and these pictures are making me relapse.

Kenneth DenmarkMember since Jun 2014

Do you use the cut-out tool much when in working with drywall ? Back in the days when I work as a carpenter we never used it . It was first when I started with Dewalt I’ve seen it.

I’m feeling a love/hate relationship here…. I love all the new tools you guys are sharing, but my bank account hates you for it….. I better start saving my pennies for all the new things coming out.

We seem always here the first quarter and then maybe the third quarter. They keep teasing us.

I kinda like the oscillating multitool too cut out most electrical boxes when hanging rock. That’s just me the rotary tools feel like controlled chaos but that’s just me.

Mr. YellowMember since Jan 2011

I’m with you. The cut-out tool will not produce clean cuts like the multitool does.

My rep asked me if I use this kind of tool. I did, cause I imported one from the US (previous 18v model), but hardly ever use it.

Like you said, controlled chaos. Especially now they have a cordless multitool, that would be much easier and better to use.

My rep didn’t think of that, but kinda agreed on that one.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

nice!!  I want that!!

comp56Member since Sep 2014

when cutting holes in sheet rock these are my go to knives……on the M12 multi…..

It can’t come soon enough. Starting to dislike my Protool screwgun. No doubt I’ll get the DeWALT.

It’s lighter as well, which is always good.

I found a article from someone who went to STAFDA who saw the screw gun and talked with one of the dewalt project managers and he said there will be an attachment for collated screws that is going to be released the same time as they have the screw gun come out in spring of 2015.

RickyMcGrathMember since Oct 2014

SWEET! I can ditch my rigid collated gun.

Dewalt tried a collated attachment once and it crashed & burned.

BigmikezMember since Jun 2013

1000 into light gauge steel and 750 screws into wood not bad I’m digging it. 😉

And on a 2 ah battery.. I think it is okay…

Alan mMember since Dec 2014

brilliant. cant wait . I like that you can take the collating attachment off and use it like a normal dry wall screw gun

This just in my Email today from DeWALT  Insights:  http://www.dewaltinsights.com/MediaServer/3/documents/020415%20DEWALT%20DCF620%20Drywall%20Screwgun%20Release%20-%20FINAL.pdf

So it will be known as the DCF620, it is brushless, depending on the kit 2.0 or 4.0 Ah batteries and they are estimating 38-65 sheets of drywall to a battery. I don’t hang much drywall, but that adds up to at least an hour or two run time per battery in my estimates. Bare gun will be $139, with 2.0 Ah batteries $199 and $269 with 4.0 Ah batteries. The screw strip attachment will be tool free installation and $99 for the DCF6201.
