Possibly a new Ryobi Nailer on the Horizon?

Attention fellow Ryobi fans: I Spotted a different nailer in a Ryobi/Home depot (Canada) commercial. It looks larger than the Airstrike brad nailer or narrow crown stapler. Could it be a 14ga brad nailer or framing nailer? I wonder if its a prototype or if its even going to be available here in the states. Ryobi has been knocking it out of the park with these things!

Hmmmmm…maybe a framing nailer??

DR99Member since Nov 2012

It looks more like a 16 gauge trim nailer to me right now its just a brad nailer and stapler. It just doesn’t look big enough in the picture and video to be a framing nailer.

JavierMember since Aug 2013

Looks nice, ryobi has been stepping it up lately

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Hey Javier, do you have the Airstrike nailer?

KatoMember since Jan 2014

I’ve got the nailer, sooner or later I want to get the stapler. And…if that’s a framing nailer I definitely want that

Nice. I’ve got both and if you like the nailer, youll love the stapler. Its just as awesome. As far as the new nailer goes, Im down for it whether its a framing nailer or heavier gage finish nailer. If it says “airstrike”, Im all in!

KaHuNaZMember since Mar 2014

Looks like someone posted on FB that they spotted it in a Ryobi Catalog. Looks like its a 16 gauge straight finish nailer. P325

Here is a link to the manual

pretty sure the clip holder/magazine would be angled if it was a framer.

I know this is late but no I don’t. I don’t have any ryobi power tools. It would be cool to have though

I had a chance to shoot a few nails using this new trim nailer at a local Home Depot this past weekend. The Ryobi sales rep for my area (North Carolina) was there & had it setup along with a new 18V SDS hammer drill that’s coming out. The nailer was smooth & felt good in my hand, I’m definitely going to be picking up one. The model in post #8, P325, looks right from the manual linked there.

The hammer drill was very fast & felt good as well. He had a cinder block setup & had an older 18V hammer drill there, & the new SDS felt like it was about twice as fast.

I’m way into this, hoping they make a framing gun.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Ryobi has had a SDS drill out for awhile now but you could only buy it online. Is it new or is Home Depot going to carry it in stores now? I’m not doubting you just curious as this would be a newer market for Ryobi.

He said the SDS would likely be online only, but that some of the bigger stores that have a whole isle setup for Ryobi  stuff might carry them in those stores. We don’t have any of those stores here in this area, but I’d like to check one out to see what they do & don’t stock as compared to “normal” stores.

Northern RebelMember since May 2014

Airstrike! Let’s do this!

KatoMember since Jan 2014

Wow, that’s a little bit higher than I thought it’d be…

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Owwwww. Sounds like Ryobi might be stepping up to money plate 🙁

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

You can get the 18ga with one lithium battery and charger, recond, for 145. That’s more palatable.

KaHuNaZMember since Mar 2014

HD is showing 3 of these nailers available in my local store.

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Haha, that’s weird it shows in stock at my local stores but not online. Usually its the opposite with most tool releases that its available online before the stores. I will say that none of the M12 fuel products are stocked except the impact driver.

KatoMember since Jan 2014

Shows 3 in stock at my local store. Wonder if the wife will let me get a Father’s Day present…

DR99Member since Nov 2012

The only thing is I wish it was an Angled nailer. The other thing I don’t like is it looks a lot bigger than the other airstrike nailers that’s what I liked about them was how small they are.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

Well I FINALLY bought the 18ga. Airstrike. I bought it from Tyler Tool and should have it sometime next week. I have several different things I want to review and I have a great little project to run it through. I can’t wait for the 16ga and I’ll get the crown stapler too.

Chris knowing that THD has exclusive rights to Ryobi products, may I ask you what you paid? I am assuming that had to charge some type of markup.

ChrisKMember since Dec 2012

I paid $139 for the kit. Reconditioned. CPO is an authorized Ryobi dealer as it relates to reconditioned tools. I ended up actually paying $116.61 because I had $23 in my paypal account. The tool and battery and charger have a one year warranty.

Kavery17Member since May 2014

The Ryobi 16 gauge Finish Nailer is now available for sale at The Home Depot. I believe it just went on sale today. You can’t order it online but you can pick it up in store now!

Northern RebelMember since May 2014

Did they make a framing nailer yet?

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Not yet.

Northern RebelMember since May 2014

Anybody hear if they are gonna make a framer? Thank you

DR99Member since Nov 2012

It’s possible Nr77 but we haven’t heard anything from Ryobi to confirm that possibility. I know plenty of people that wouldn’t mind a cordless framer from Ryobi though 🙂

Northern RebelMember since May 2014

I know right! Ha thank u!

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I’d say we can count on a framer 😉

Northern RebelMember since May 2014

A good and affordable framer would sell like wildfire for Ryobi.

JeremyJMember since Apr 2014

I’m still wondering why TTI has Ryobi working on this tech. It would seem more in line with the Milwaukee brand….Nothing but heavy duty etc. Ryobi has stepped up their game recently, but how many regular homeowners are trimming out their houses and will spend the money on a bare tool.

TTI might be playing a dangerous game, Milwaukee supporters having to buy Ryobi tools and batteries.

I wonder how much tech sharing the TTI tool companies have?

DR99Member since Nov 2012

Well TTI also has to play along with Home Depot too they have to be TTI’s biggest customer. If Home Depot wants a certain tool sold by Ryobi it probably goes to that brand. We might see some brushless nailers make it over to Milwaukee I hope we might see something at this years Milwaukee new product event.

That will pale in comparison to the butt-spanking they’ll do when they start making brushless stuff.

Northern RebelMember since May 2014

Their compressor and nailer combo looks awesome! And was a really good deal for Christmas.
