I don’t post in this topic often, but if anyone is looking for an awesome socket set there are a couple of steals on eBay right now.
Blackhawk is Proto’s budget line and they are the best value in sockets IMO. Proto quality at Craftsman prices. These sockets are NOS. I bought a set of each of these myself.
This 111 piece set is 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2. Ratchets are Taiwan, but still very nice. 7 of these left.
This 104 piece set in the best buy IMO. Pretty nice assortment in 1/4 and 3/8. This is a little older than the 111 and includes 3 USA ratchets. 1 standard in each drive plus a stubby 3/8 flex. Great as an upgrade, starter set, or a road set. 2 of these left.
Great find Conductor. You are the best testimony of how great Blackhawk is.
It’s nice stuff. Not all of it is Proto grade, but there is very little difference in the sockets, extensions, etc. Lifetime warranty too.
At these prices you can’t get a Chinese Craftsman set half it’s size. We’re talking under $1 per piece including ratchets. Hell, I’m half tempted to buy another set, but I just really don’t need more than the 500 or so sockets I already have.
Then again, since when did need have anything to do with it? 😆
Seriously though, the USA ratchets in these sets would sell for $15 a piece on a bad day.
