At work, this drill suddenly stopped working. It would turn a few mm in either direction, but nothing more. About a year later, I picked it up, tapped on it, played with the trigger, the forward and reverse and still got nothing but a few mm of movement.
I took it upstairs to take it apart and see what was going on, but I didn’t get around to it until the next day. Picked it up, pulled the trigger and got completely normal function. No clue why. This lasted many many months until last week when I lent the tool to some co-workers. It came back dead. Trigger still caused the LED to light, but no movement at all. I took it apart, took off the transmission, reseated the motor, put it all back together and now it works again. Why? What did I “fix” and how did what I “fix” get broken twice? There wasn’t any debris jamming anything, battery was full, no loose wires. I am stumped.
