My 21″ mower is about three summers old. I have a quarter-acre lot. Lately, it shuts down halfway through the cut. The batteries have plenty of charge (duel 6 ah). The light still works and the wheels still drive, just the blade stops spinning. My only guess is that it thinks it’s overheating but it’s only 60 degrees out and I’m cutting a small lot.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Hello Sean,
By your explanation it sounds like I have the same problem. Ryobi 21″ 40 volt self-propelled..After mowing a while the mower blade stops turning. After resetting the self propelled drives but the blade doesn’t cut. On the top of the handle where you push to start the blade that area is very warm. Sometime is wrong! My mower is not on the recall list.
Is there a part’s list to see if anything in the handle assembly to replace the parts getting hot?
