Bought 18v impact driver. 4 mos old. used less than 10x. Treated it like a newborn, never got wet, never dropped. Randomly starts and stops on trigger pull. Batteries fully charged, light comes on and the nothing. Can’t return to Lowe’s past 90 days and no response from Metabo customer support. When it does work, it quits after 10 seconds.

VERY UNHAPPY with product and company.

Hoping Metabo sees this post and makes this right so I can retract this post but if not, I will post daily about my experience.

Sorry to hear you are having an issue.  Nothing more frustrating spending money and not having a company back you up.  I feel like so many companies don’t care about you after you make a purchase.

Power tools cost a lot, and it sucks when you get a lemon.  I had a similar issue with a Milwaukee M18 Fuel impact wrench I bought about eight years ago, but Milwaukee was quick to respond and repaired the tool without an issue.  Since then, I’ve bought at least two defective tools that I never did contact the manufacturer about: a DeWalt 12v Max 3/8″ impact wrench and a Milwaukee M12 Fuel impact driver.  Both won’t retain the socket/bit, which for the cost of those tools is inexcusable, but which I dropped the ball on getting repairs (I can probably repair the DeWalt myself).

I’m guessing the latter if he bought it from Lowe’s recently.  I had a chance to get some Metabo tools on the cheap when Lowe’s was clearing the inventory around 2016.  I almost wish I had, just to compare them against the other brands I have.  IIRC, they had the drill, driver, miter saw, band saw, and maybe a couple of other tools (circular and recip saws, perhaps?).
