Hi Folks: I was just given a used Ryobi P2003 string trimmer, 18v. Seems to have plenty of power, but the line advance doesn’t work at all. Further, it’s just the one string hanging out, rather than two. So I’m wondering: are there aftermarket line head that I can attach, that work better? Feed easier? Have two strings out? Reload easier? I sure hope so. As it is, this tool is hardly worth the trouble of using. Look forward to your responses.
Yes there is but not sure if they are compatible with Ryobi or not. I would think they are. I have never used a non OEM head so not sure which one is the best
Thanks, Eric. For the benefit of anyone else in my situation: Ryobi itself makes and sells a better trimmer head ($32) — but it doesn’t fit the P2003 or P2004 models. I sense that these were entry-level machines not meant for serious work. I’m going to sell mine as-is and buy a better one.
