Several months ago, the tool failed. It would make a click, turn for half a second in whatever direction it was set for and go no further. Subsequent trigger pulls would give just a click, the light would come on but no movement until the direction setting was changed and then the cycle would start again: half second movement, no movement, just a click.
Friday I brought it up to my desk and repeated this failure many times in preparation for taking it apart to investigate. Monday I come into the office, pick it up, pull the trigger and it runs like a champ, both directions, all speeds. Battery taken off, put back on, banging on it on different sides with my hand…it keeps functioning. Any idea what happened here? As far as I’m concerned, this is a tool miracle.
I have 1 (one) cordless tool, and it’s my bosch freak imspact driver. I like it, and I’m thinking of getting a drill that uses the same battery as the freak. Now I’m confronted by seemingly a lot of options, weird part numbers, and a myriad of price points.
