Will I ruin my Hammer drill?

I recently bought the M18™ Brushless 1” SDS Plus D-Handle Rotary Hammer 2613-20 and have been using it mostly for the drilling holes for emt conduit. I’ve been using 7/8″ to 1″ carbide bits for my drill and was wondering if using such big bits will ruin my drill. I understand that its slated for 1″ for bits, but I’ve been hearing that its not very optimal. Has anyone run into issues using the max sized bits for the drill?

From what manufaturers told us is that if you are doing a lot of drilling over and over, a rotary tool is the way to go as it will burn out a hammer drill over time.  How deep are you going and how often?  If it’s frequent, yes it will put a toll on the tool, but if it’s one of the occasional holes, then it’s no big deal.
