I own the Rigid Impact Driver model no. R862311 and have been noticing a strange clacking noise after the driver has been impacting for a while then stopped and re-started under no-load. The clacking noise occurs right after the driver is re-started without any screw or load.
It is almost as if the internal hammer is seating/slipping on the anvil, meaning there is a definite hammering noise but no load to explain the triggering of it. After this initial occasional clacking event, the driver impacts normally with no other issues.
I would appreciate it if Rigid technical support responds and/or other owners with a similar problem regarding this tool.
