DeWalt is crap. Where is their customer loyalty.

I Unfortunately will only get pawn shop dewalt or amizon knockoffs in that battery style now. As brand loyalty means nothing if the brand is only selling a name, and not quality.

Just watch PROJECT FARM on YouTube. Dewalt used to have high quality cordless tools. Unfortunately for me I love my old dewalts, when they sold high quality tools.

If you watch PROJECT FARM you will see that dewalt is going with the cheapest parts available making their tools on par with a lot of knockoff brands.

The knockoffs will underperform the name brands by 20-50% with all dewalt coming in at 15-20% better than the knock offs.

It sad that I can get cordless or corded black and decker at a fraction of the price of any dewalt, and they will be 2-3 times better in every category, and carry a better lifetime warranty.

When an independent unbiased product reviewer like PROJECT FARM who is not sponsored shows us dewalt is 1 step above knockoff brands. That black & decker, porter cable and craftsman are in the top 5 with makita, and snap-on. Dewalt has become the joke of power tools.

You want my opinion get any other tool brand out there unless you like setting $100 on fire or using them to wipe yourself. But for the love of God watch PROJECT FARM first it has helped me brake the nasty habit of it “dewalt or nothing”. Now I make informed decisions on tools, and I don’t look like a F@#$%^g stupid a$$ hat s#!t for brain moron by being brand loyal to a brand that’s not loyal to us.

I own multiple different tool brands now. I buy the best or sometimes cheapest, (let’s face it sometimes all you need is a .50 cent plastic scraper that you wanna throw away) according to how often I will use it. I will always watch PROJECT FARM first. No sense in buying $300,000 snap-on impact when my black & decker is all I need for the occasional brake job.

I really like all my DeWALT tools!

In my contractor days, I started out with the old-skool Makitas…the ol’ 9.6-volt sticks. Remember those? Everybody had ’em. Right before turn of the century, DeWalt came out with various tools so I bought a 12-volt drill/saw kit. They could handle thicker wood than Makita but as a flooring contractor, I cut through a year’s worth of 2x4s, ripped considerable amounts of plywood for underlayment, drove a lot of screws; after a year, both tools’ ball bearings and brushes gave out; fortunately, there was a shop with great cross-reffing as far a those went to I re-bearinged and re-brushed both tools. Before long, those, too, gave way and I breathed a sigh of relief when someone got into my workvan and stole my DeWalt tools. My friends were having trouble with their DeWalts as well.

I got fed up enough to go to Home Depot and ask to see their line-ups. The latest DeWalts cringed me, which the sales guy saw and said “C’mon over here, look at this!”…showed me the new Porter Cable 19.2v cordless setup: it had the drill, the saw, a flashlight, the charger and one battery. I asked “How much?”…he said “$300”, which was much cheaper than the DeWalts. I took a risk, told him “I’ll take this and two more batteries” and was out the door for under $400.

From Day One until 5 years later, I cut a lot of lumber, even more than with the DeWalts. The Porter Cables never once complained. After awhile, I concluded those were the best cordless tools I’ve used thus far and a terrific value. After they wore down some and the batteries cheesed out, I gave them to a friend who can redo batteries, could refurbish them…bought the new 20v Max Porter Cables. I’m happy with them: 1/2″ drill, circular saw, sawzall, oscillating cutter and jigsaw (said saw is having a slight bit of difficulty which I have to remedy). Not sure why the rest of the world seems to swear at Porter Cable…I swear by ’em.

DeWalt has a reputation for being a high-quality tool brand, but it’s understandable to be frustrated if you’ve had a bad experience with their customer service. Here’s a more balanced perspective:

DeWalt offers a warranty and repair service: Check their website or contact them directly to see if your tool qualifies for warranty repair or replacement.
Customer experiences can vary: While some users have negative experiences, others swear by DeWalt’s tools and service. Online reviews can be helpful, but keep in mind they might not reflect the majority.
Competition is fierce: Milwaukee, Makita, and other brands offer similar tools. If DeWalt isn’t meeting your needs, consider other options.

I recently bought a DeWalt DXGN8950i generator to assist my Honda EG5500CXS generator.  In comparison the DeWalt is totally inept and useless. I should have gone with my gut feeling and just upgraded the Honda. At least that never tripped out all the time, and that’s on any 1 appliance.

If you happen to look it up..

Black and Decker owns DeWalt and Craftsman and a few other tool companies.

DeWalt is just a brand name, not an actual company and Black and Decker owns them.

Craftsman is a company owned by Black and Decker since 2017 I think when they bought them out from under Sears when they closed.

But quality has gone down any many companies….all overseas now pretty much!!

DeWALT is not a high quality tool brand, if you use Fein, Festool, Mafell, Hilti(?), Lamello, Rothenberger and Steinel tools. I would call DeWALT a Medium class tool brand, including Milwaukee and Makita, these all have a few good tools but the general picture puts them in medium class category.

It seems American market (including Canada) is dominated by the “Monopoly” of DeWALT-Milwauakee and somehow(???) good European brands don’t find their way to American market, forcing Americans to have only red and yellow options in most of the cases.
