My Delta sander has blown up and half the parts are obsolete, so it looks like it’s time for a new combo sander. I’ve been looking at everything from Powermatic to Conquest to General International to Jet to Shop Fox to Grizzly…mostly in the 1hp -1 1/2hp range. And I have to be able to contour sand with the belt.
Any favorites?
My knowledge of stationary tools is limited. I think shop fox oem’s for a ton of other companies. You cant go wrong with powermatic but your going to pay a lot more for the bigger name. If your considering powermatic check out cpo they might have some refurb deals http://www.cpopowermatic.com/
Have you checked out grizzly?
I haven’t bought from them but I’ve read they have good prices and good tools.
If you decide to go with a Jet, CPO Outlet has a 15% off sale this weekend. I believe you use the code “PREZ15” when checking out.
That Powermatic with the CPO discount is looking real good. I’m wondering how it compares with the Jet, or the Conquest, which is USA made, and I like that.
The jet also has the 15% discount.
Anyone have any contact with the Conquest or General International combo sanders?
Or does anyone have a preference between Powermatic or Jet?

Either will suit you well. I like Jet stuff personally.
