Hi all, first post here not really sure where it goes. i have a Bosch power-box 360 and i want to use it when i go ice fishing this weekend. i thought i read that if it gets to cold it shuts off till its the right temperature again. if this is true is there a way to bypass is so i can use it when im ice fishing in the 10 degree or less weather? thanks!

You should be fine using your Power Box!  I take it out of my trunk when it’s in the negative temps here, and it fires right up.  I thought it goes down to -4 is what I thought.  I don’t think you should have a problem.

I’ve got the 360 too. No probs with mine either! Have fun!

I don’t know the age of your packs, but the new 4.0 and 2.0 era cells handle the cold so much better than the first gen lithium ion cells.

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

Even the 1.5 and 3.0 batteries handle the cold better. I have used mine down to 15 without an issue.

They are lithium.. The box says 2013 and I’ve never used them so I’m going to assume they will be fine? Any precarious I should take? Thanks again for the help! I’m so happy that I’ll get to use it this weekend

Never let a discharged battery sit too long. The can self discharge beyond the point of no return. The packs will throw a error code if they are allowed to discharge that low. It’s a technology limitation.

Drewster2012Member since Feb 2014

Oh okay I’ll keep that in mind.. 2 of the battery’s are in the box never opened so I’m hoping they are good. Does anyone knkw if if would be okay to use in a snowstorm? Heard possible snow for the day I am going and don’t want to not be able to use it now

NicholasShetleyMember since Nov 2013

Just keep them above -4 and they should work fine.

Drewster2012Member since Feb 2014

But what about in the snow!?

DR99Member since Nov 2012

It should be fine in the snow just as long as you don’t bury it in a snow drift the all have some moisture resistance.

I plan on making a little shelter for it.. 2 stakes with a tarp across be too so it’s coverd a little

As others have said, the power box will be fine. The internal temp is what matters, so as long as you don’t leave it in the truck overnight, it should have issue firing up the next morning.
