Awhile back I received a Wera Kraftform Kompact 25 for review. The review is complete and will post in the next few days.
Anyhow, tonight I will host another Trivia challenge. This will be 2 questions. First to respond with the correct answers wins the Kompact 25. If after 24 hours no one has correctly answered, first with 1 correct wins. If neither has been correctly answered, I will post a new set of questions.
Questions will post promptly at 10:00 p.m. EST tonight in this thread. See you then!
I’ll give you a hint. Both question deal with J.H. Williams wrench types
Here are the trivia questions. A little harder than last time.
1. Historically, J.H. Williams produced 2 classes of wrenches, the well known “Superwrench” line, and the lesser known “Superior” wrench line. What is the primary difference between the two?
2. Traditionally there are 2 fundamental differences between a Construction Wrench and a Structural Wrench. What are they?
Good luck boys!
The Superench was a chrome-molybdenum steel alloy, while the Superior line was carbon-steel.
Construction wrenches have the handle and end in line structural are offset. I believe the finish is different also, structural being an oxide or matte finish while construction are a plate or polished finish.
Very good Red. You are correct. The Superior line was eventually phased out, but both lines were available concurrently for some time.
As for #2, The straight versus offset is the key difference. The other typical difference is that structural wrenches have straight jaws whereas construction wrenches feature the traditional 15 degree angled head.
I’m impressed Red. Job well done. PM me your address and I will ship the Kompact out this week.
Great trivia challenge conductor!!!!!! Love you doing that. Thanks for taking the time and the giveaway. Really nice!!
Red, that is very impressive you know those things. I just don’t know that stuff. You could hit me in the head with a Construction Wrench or a Structural Wrench and I still wouldn’t know.
But I do really like the trivia challenges.

Ditto, and agreed!!!
Love the trivia stuff Conductor, congrats red, thats a nice tool you got there!!
Thanks. I knew about the spud wrenches, the Williams wrenches difference took a little digging and deductive reasoning. I couldn’t find a source that gave a direct comparison.
Good job Red. Nice trivia challenge Conductor.
