I’m a bit sick of talking red and yellow all day round here, Bosch makes some awesome tools!
I’ve played with all their drills and impacts, grinder and jigsaw. I really like the compact striker (but didn’t keep it on account of having the DCD790), and I love the HT wrench but just don’t use it enough.
My favourites are the grinder and jigsaw which are both small in the hand but powerful and a pleasure to use.
What is your favourite(s)?
I like their grinders before they updated them, I haven’t tried them since they updated them.
Rotary hammers
Good point, I think if i used my rotary more often it might be my favourite!
My next set of corded tools will be from bosch
If I get multi tools, miter saws, and rotary hammers, they will definitely be bosch for corded
I really do like my Bosch 12 slider on one of their gravity rise stands! I wouldn’t mind one of the axial glide saws except they are super heavy 🙁
I want a Bosch 4100 terribly bad!
Yea I really like the Bosch Miter saw except for the size and weigh the Germans love to make things big and massive, and sometimes over complicated, but they do work really nice most of the time!!
Table saws from Bosch. Da bomb. And the Rotary Hammer is sweet too.
The latest Bosch tools are incredibly engineered.
And the coolpack batteries on my 18v tools by them are brilliant.
I think the overall standard by all the top 8 manufacturers has moved on over the last couple of years by leaps and bounds. 🙂
they are great tools.
it’s really just the impact drivers that I think they are weak in. they’re fatter but less powerful than others I’ve tried. Though they are very quiet while free-spinning.
Am I the only one who thinks that their 12 volt tools have a delay when you pull the trigger? It seems that it is considerably longer than any other cordless tool.
If Milwaukee didn’t exist I would have Bosch 12v power tools. They’re the only 12v brand that can match the 12v tools I own.
Javier, I’m with you. If I hadn’t invested in the M12 line when I had, I would be ALL over Bosch. Back then the line was kind of stagnant and not growing too much, now they’re like a wild fire and expanding the line constantly. Plus I love the l boxx’ series and actually consider them the same calibre as my T Lock system from Festool. I’m NOT slamming Milwaukee M12. I absolutely love the line it’s just an observation that at this time, I would’ve gone with Bosch if the line was bigger.
I like those lboxxes but as much as I like them I prefer throwing my tools in a tool bag
I really like the my 12v Impact. but there is a delay sometime when you pull the trigger. I got in to Bosch, because of there Powerbox radio, but I REALLY like my cordless Roto Hammer,
I’ve got the 18V multi-tool on the way now. very excited! can anyone give good recommendation for blade brands?
I bought the Bosch multi-tool blades the only thing that sucks is they cost alittle bit. I haven’t had any problem with my 12v multi-tool or blades, and they seem pretty durable.
Slickest thing Bosch has put out in awhile is the Impact that is both a standard impact driver and 1/2″ impact wrench. They called it a GDX 18 V-Li or something in Europe. Not sure what the US model number was though.
ive played with them a bit. very versatile, but lacking in grunt. the dcf 885 or 886 leave it for dead with larger fixings (e.g. batten screws or coach bolts with a 15mm socket head). the Bosch is rated higher which just makes me lack all faith in manufacturers claims.
Look out for the new 10.8v 12v if you are in the U.S.A Bosch jigsaw and circular saw and at least one new drill. 🙂
DR((:
If you really like the Bosch miter saws you might want to check out the Fine Woodworking 2015 TOOL GUIDE, Pg. 38. It’s an excellent article on both selection criteria, how much miter saw do you really need? and a comparison between some of the most prominent 12″ single bevel miter saws. After reading it I ordered the Bosch CM12 from Lowes. It should be in and available for pick up any day now.
Dwain:
I know what you mean about manufacturers’ tool ratings. The only way to know what any power tool will do is either first hand testing or an independent third party comparison. Just another good reason to appreciate TIA.
The GDX 18 From bosch is a very cool Idea but as Dwain said a bit underpowered. Do not assume it has the torque off other 18 Volt 1/2″ impact wrenches. More of a slighlty underpowered impact driver.
Their newest 18 Volt Brushless Drill driver. GSR 18 V-Ec in europe is good tho. Not as strong as the Striker but high RPM’s and compact 🙂 fine tool for everyday use =)

The original was, the newer brushless one is fantastic!
The only thing I got from Bosch is a washer and dryer they suit there purpose but the lint trap needs to much maintenance for my taste, in the future I might look at switching to Dewalt or Milwaukee.

Aha ! Then i’ll have to order one of those to try them out ! Thanks !
😀
I will buy the 12V line from Bosch too, but I gonna wait until they have them in a brushless kit
They don’t have a kit yet? Oh that’s right they still haven’t came out with a brushless impact driver.
they have the PS22-02 in the brushless 12V line.
