These are sold as the Tri-Vise over here. I picked one up at Lowe’s on clearance a few weeks back for about $5. Decent concept, lift the lumber up enough to avoid hitting the ground with the blade, while locking it in place. I used to use a piece of scrap lumber and my foot for a similar effect.

Yes, I know that triangle Tri-Vise, $5 is a great price for that.
