I have a DWS779 that is binding when the blade is on it. I have verified that the blade is not warped, as I have tried two different ones. When I take the blade off the mechanism spins fine. The blade lock pin also will no longer engage. I think that the blade lock may not be fully releasing or engaging. Anyone had an issue like this? Any ideas how to fix? I actually took the spindle mechanism completely out and see nothing that would cause it to bind.
Experiencing this problem for the first time. Slightly loosing the bolt that holds the blade in place helped a little but blade still eventually sticks/binds without even trying to saw anything. Saw is a cpl yrs old but hasn’t had much use.
Fellow 779’ers,
I’m having the same exact issue. Were either of you able to identify the issue and a solution to fix? All Dewalt is telling me is to take it to a certified repair shop. I was hoping to just fix it myself, but so far I haven’t found the culprit.
