I just got an old Ryobi 12v drill at a garage sale.  I was told I would need a new charger.  Problem is the identifying label on the right side of the drill has been scraped off.    On the other side I can see what was probably RYOBI with a 12.o v under it.  The drill is a bluish green and has two vent slots on each side.  The battery says it is a 1400652.  What kind of charge to I need to get for this thing?  What other – newer – batteries are compatible and what chargers would they require?

Thanks

I cannot say specifically but if that old and 12V more than likely either NiCad or NiMh batteries. If you can’t find a specific charger any more you could probably make an adapter using any 12v charger for that type battery. Those are not as critical regarding charging as are lithium batteries.

Maybe even just put #12 wires with clips to use as a portable corded drill connected to car battery!  LOL
