Hi everyone,

I’m newbie and I need some of your advices with my house’s problem. If I post in the wrong place, please forgive me 😀

I and my wife love hanging picture in the house, like canvas pictures, but we don’t use nails because we don’t want to make any holes in the walls. We have tried using the double side tape, or sticky wall hook but it seemed not work. The tape was weak that could not hang the pictures, and the sticky hook damaged the wall coating so much. Can you give us some recommendations. Thank you!

Great question.  I have never found a product that works long term.  Some claim to not damage the walls, but it doesn’t hold up long term.  The ones that hold up long term, damage the wall, so for those, nails would be better.  As much as I hate 3M, the do have some double sided tape that would work depending how heavy the canvas is.  I am not sure the name or model but it’s a much thicker tape and it’s pretty expensive, I believe $15 or higher per roll.  But that seems to work and not damage walls.  Just make sure the wall is clean before you apply the tape and it should hold for a long time.

The thicker one? I’ve tried to search on gg and it showed me some imagies and videos about nano tape. Is that the one you told me about? In some videos, nano tape can hang for about 5 or 6 bricks and can be washed, it so awesome :D. I will try it and give some review about it late 😀

Thank you

Here is the nano tape picture (I took it from gg)

Updated: I’ve tried it alot of time and there’s only one word to say: very good! The tape is very strong so that I can hang thing for a long long time (from last week and It’s still there =)) ). I used another nano tape to test about “not damage wall ability” and It was the same as advertisement, I followed the instruction and I could easily remove the tape. Now I have another job for the tape: sticking tissues in my car =)). You should try it :D. I found a store selling it. IDK if this is the official store or not, but the quality is very good. Good luck!

I have heard about that tape also.  Would like to know how it works or what you think.  That looks better than the tape I was thinking of.

If you can reconsider using nails, that will be good. All other options can damage your walls. Like the preset torque screwdrivers, there are power tools available, which can easily help you fix or remove the nail without much effort. You need not worry about your nails getting hit by the hammer. Nothing holds the wall hangings stronger than a nail. Think about it.

Welcome to the forum.

This style picture hook is available in many small to large sizes and is the only method I use for hanging pictures.

It works well, in my case has never failed in decades of usage and many dozens of applications.

It leaves a very small hole in the sheetrock and is very easy to fix w/ joint compound.

Has anybody actually used this tape? I’m afraid that it won’t hold a picture of about 4.5 pounds. What do you think?

Welcome to the forum.

Why not try and report the results?

That light picture won’t tax the tape much.

Or, use the nail hooks I linked earlier.

I have used tape like this.  I got it off Amazon and it worked awesome.  It wasn’t for a picture.  I set up a reverse osmosis system and used the tape for the pressure gauge on the wall and it is still holding.

I’m just afraid to damage my newly painted walls.

Thank you for the review! Now I’m pretty sure I’ll use the tape.
