With all the new posters I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself. My real name is Travis, I’m 29 and I was born and raised in West “By God” Virginia. I’ve worked on the Railroad as a Conductor since I was 20 although I mostly work in the Union office anymore. I’m a big fan of Proto, Blackhawk, and Channellock hand tools, as well as Milwaukee power tools. Anything else you’d like to know just ask. I’m not shy.
My name is Andy and I am almost 24. I have been an electrician for 6 years and love it! I am hardcore Klein hand tools and love my milwaukee power tools. If anyone ever has any electrical questions dont hesitate to ask because I love to help!
Glad to meet you Andy! It’s always nice to have Tradesmen hanging around the forum.
I suspect Wayne will chime in in the next day or so. He’s a plumber by trade from Manchester England. He’s one of our Moderators and he always makes conversations interesting.
I hope he does, its weird not seeing him out there!
Sorry guys got here a bit late but Hello everyone all the same 🙂
Speak of the devil! Welcome back Mr. Burgess
Hi guys phew it has been madness over here but here we are and how is everyone? 🙂
Good Wayne. Hope the same can be said of you.
Not bad now.
It is a part of life that sometimes we lose family members.
But onward and upward and am back to share the fun.

Eric and Dan have done a good job promoting the forum on the YouTube channel. We’ll eventually see more faces around I believe.
Hey Everyone. My name is Charlie, I’m from Louisiana. I have worked my way up over the past 10 years from an employee to part owner and operations manager for a structural steel company. Up until recently we ran a fabrication plant as well as 4 or 5 erection crews. Because of the market and jobs being awarded below the cost of materials, I’ve gotten away from commercial steel and have diversified with a big focus on industrial work and the oil and gas industries.
I’m definitely a tool guy, I grew up helping Dad in his welding shop and building custom horse trailers and enclosed car haulers from birth until he got of the welding business, and shortly after that i found my passion for hot rods and drag racing. I was collecting tools by the age of five or six, I remember my grandmother taking me shopping at Sears every holiday to pick out something for my tool box. In pre school or kindergarten I went to private school, and for my birthday I got a child size welding hood, welding gloves, chipping hammer, striker, and tape measure. I was so excited I insisted on wearing all of it to school. The stuff I couldn’t wear I found a way to attach it. I remember those rich kids asking why I was wearing a “space helmet.” I was like “what kind of idiot are you, this is NOT a space helmet. It’s a welding hood.”
I got a 68 Chevy pickup for Christmas when I was 14, and thus begun my real and adult tool collection. I live by the motto “If it aint broke, I’ll still fix it because it can always be better.”
PS- I wasn’t sure if this was supposed to be posted in this thread or if I was supposed to create a thread. Since there was only one thread and I saw a few introductions I chose this route.
Welcome Charlie 🙂

Hi all, My real name is Brandon, Ive worked in maintenance at a family business since I was 12. I have a pet peeve up cheap tools (Harbor Freight and China Brand). So much that I recently started selling DeWalt, Ryobi, Milwaukee and a whole bunch more at 50-60% off retail so I have the luxury of testing a lot of similar tools before they make it home with me. Looked over the tool deals, and think I can beat most of them. Look forward to the talks.
Welcome to the forum ToolGuru. Do you deal in hand tools as well?
That would be awesome if you did haha
Welcome to the forum 🙂

G’day i’m a chef from Tasmania who has been working as a metal deck roof plumber for the past 6 years. My job entails removing all types of roofing materials and replacing them appropriately; all types of internal box, valley and custom fold gutters as well as fascia gutters of any type(spouting); down-pipes; wall-cladding of many types; roofing/wall structural construction and repair; all manner of roof windows, skylights, etc… Also due to my locale i have my ticket for asbestos removal and encapsulation, i reckon a third of the houses i work on are heritage listed.
Dewalt xr for cordless =), irwin grips and folders, an insane looking stewart hammer, Hilti screwgun(corded, even xr will struggle with roof zips from 6 till 6), irwin gilbows and stanley offset snips not the fatmax ones with the crap grips the old school ones i have had for 4 years.
Work for a company that employs about 120 souls but most of them work in laser cutting, powder-coating and fabrication or admin. We got about 20 roofers.
I run a crew of 3 me and two apprentices,
its winter here cold wet f&^%ing windy around 38 to 50 kph on the hills, we had 2 days off for weather so far this year lol they both been in the last week.
Welcome James! Glad to have you aboard.
Welcome, and another DeWalt guy!
WELCOME!!!!
Andy!! Your Back you have missed a lot, Where have you been?
Haha I know I went MIA! I was moving and changed companies and have been wedding planning all in one so it got kind of crazy but I am back in my favorite spot again!!!
I’m in a moving situation myself. I was gonna build, but I found a perfect house cheaper than I can build. I can’t be homeless for a year either, lol

Large 3 car with lots of outlets and lighting 🙂 Already has a 220V plug right where the compressor needs to be and ceiling fans as well.
That sounds great!!
Hi Everyone,
My name is Harold. I’m a tool junkie. They say admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. I love reading about new tools and reviews of them. What better place to satisfy my addition then TIA. Like everyone here I come up with so many reasons why I need that new tool. Thankfully my wife tells me we can’t afford anything and we get to eat another day. This is why TIA is wonderful. I/we get to live vicariously through Eric and Dan. Just a couple of guys living the dream. While we get to think, wouldn’t that be so cool to have one of those. I could use it for so much….
I am pretty lazy about posting on forums but I’m trying to change that. Hope to chime in more. And ask and listen to everyones advise.
Thanks for listening. I have to go hug my table saw now. Then clean it. 🙂
