Been a while since I posted, hope everyone is doing great! I’ve moved 1100 miles, and the new house is almost done. I had to sell a lot of my tools/equipment when I moved from NY to FL, so I’m going to be in the market for a mower.
I am really looking for a high capacity push mower or walk behind (~28″-32″)…but I don’t want to spend a fortune. I would think $500 would be appropriate for a 30″ walk behind…not $1000 like the Toro Timesaver that Eric loves when he reviewed it with Dan on TIA. I’m sure it’s an awesome machine, but for that cost I’d rather just buy a riding mower.
I only will have about 1/4 acre, and it’s mostly flat land (like all of FL). Any suggestions??? Thanks TIA Crew!!!
Ego. Got it, love it.
I have a John Deere 22″ and it is great!

Ditto with my buddy Mr.Chrisk Ego is amazing brings a smile to my face every time I use it
Try looking on Craigslist for a used one. Cub cadet also has a 33″ walk behind. If you go the crails list route you may be able to find a 36″ belt drive walk behind around your budget.
Will the Ego last long enough to do 1/4 acre?
@BK13 The 7.5 amp hr battery on the Ego averages 40 minutes per charge. I think these runtimes were in a video by @dwain

and then some, presuming you mow it regularly. I think for light mowing, the 7.5Ah on the SP mower is rated for 50 mins, and it would do that easily I reckon.
Thanks, D!
