New business name help

Hey guys, I just dropped a bunch of my cutting boards to a local consignment shop.  I want to come up with a business name so that I can set up a LLC, but I am not coming up with anything good.

I would love to hear any suggestions you have.  I think I would like the word woodworks, woodworking, or workshop in the business name.

Have fun with it and ask any questions that you think might help.

Thanks.

This might get a ton of hits if I were to register the domain name.  Not the target audience, but tons of hits none the less.

I bet if you call it Wood Tugger Workshop you would get a lot of interest…just not the type of clients you would be looking for though![emoji23]

Chef Board, your fine cutlery deserves a board as quality as your knives.

or is your board worthy of your knives.

dont trust your knives to just any board. That’s why fine chefs choose Chefs board.

In thinking that you’d need a logo too…the Great Lakes Woodworks sets you up for a fantastic logo.

+1

You can’t go wrong when you incorporate a broad geographic region like that into your name.

comp56Member since Sep 2014

             “Michigan Artisans”

“Handcrafted Woodworking since 1997”

            “Michigan End Grains”

I like the Great Lakes Woodworks myself. As dumb as it sounds, if you have your town name in the title people will unconsciously  think that you may not work in the their town. Also maybe use woodworks with an “x” in it. Great Lakes Woodworx. Just a few ideas.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

Are all your creations for sure going to be wood projects? If not consider

Great Lakes Craftworks

Great Lakes Sawworks

rrmccabeMember since Jan 2017

The problem with Great Lakes Woodworks (although I like it) is there is already a million of them.

Quick Google search shows great lakes anything is widely used.

Great point.  Great Lakes Woodworks is the one I like best so far.

JronmanMember since May 2016

@tugnut1 like @rrmccabe mentioned Great Lakes woodworking is widely used. Might be more beneficial to choose something else?

WoodNut Productions… No squirrels allowed.

Do you live in a town, a city or a rural area?

Something Like Lake Country Woodcraft maybe? ?

rrmccabeMember since Jan 2017

John is fortunate enough to have a good City name and good last name for woodworking.  In my opinion.

tugnut1Member since Jan 2016

Man, this is harder than I thought it was going to be.  I have been flip flopping from name to name.  I just want one name to jump out at me and say “Its me dumb ass, pick me!”

rrmccabeMember since Jan 2017

Well there you have it. Dumb Ass Woodworking !

LOL

It’s a good thing I can’t get in the back door anymore. Tugnut’s member title would be Dumbass ?

Thats not PC enough. Stubborn Mule Woodworking work for me.

JronmanMember since May 2016

@tugnut1 WoodNut seems like a great option. It includes wood in the name and includes part of your tia name. Not only is it a catchy name it could also imply your nuts for wood. People will associate WoodNut with something to do with wood and may be more likely to look into the company further to see what specific wood services/products you provide.

Possible Slogans?

WoodNut

“Provding quality wood creations since 2017”

WoodNut

“No squirreling around here, quality wood creations inside”

Wood Nut Workshop just jumped up as the front runner….right ahead of Dumb Ass Woodworking

tugnut1Member since Jan 2016

I have decided on Wood Nut Workshop as my “business” name.

I have messed around with a logo too in case I need one at some point.  Here is what I have.  Please give me any feedback or suggestions you may have.  I don’t know how well it shows up, but the nut and bolt combo has a wood grain overlay.Photo from the original forum

YES! I like it. If anything you may want a thin box around it.

BMack37Member since Sep 2015

Your slogan can be something like “Where the hard wood meets the nuts”

Bmill25Member since Jul 2015

When I started my business I went to a pro to make a logo for me, and he incorporated my name with a tool that I use. Maybe you could use the picture of the nut and bolt and use it for the “T” in woodnut or the bolts for the “O”‘s. As stupid as it sound, a good logo will make you money. If you hand a nice business card to someone and Joe Blow down the street gives one that he printed on his Gateway computer, using Windows 95, 99 times out of 100 you will get the job. A professional look will get you far.
