Will there be a rotating beacon ?
any particular lighthouse that this will look like ?
not really anything to look like as for rotating beacon have to put some thought into that
I get it, the taper jig makes perfect sense, will it be kept out of the weather?
no it will get fully protected inside and out….with sealer inside paint outside….. father made one about 35 years ago for camp about 7 feet tall all he did was paint it however his has an over sized roof so water fell off of it like a house sorta speak…it was still standing proud when we sold that camp had a few paint jobs over the years but still held up….he had an actual orange beacon light in his for fog lake it faced was about 3.5 miles long and about 2 miles wide could see that pretty much all over.
Here’s an 8-sider from my neck of the woods.
Digging the window !!!!!
Looks great (I had no doubt)
Sweet !!
Nice touch !!
Nice work I have a client that wants a 5′ lighthouse I will make it it octagon with a slight taper, I figured a 22.5 degree mitre for 8 sides does the taper change the math for the mitre? Thanks
