Probably should have done it before running to go get this thing when you hammer a nail into a pipe.

Have you guys seen the new flex seal tape? They’re sort of marketing that has a permanent fix.

Complete Joke.

Seen them at the suppliers. Would never buy or use.

There are much better options out there for temporary pin hole fixes that we use.

LoganMember since Jun 2015

Definitely a nice temporary fix

Rothenberger makes very reputable tools for pipe fitting trades.

Looks like a goo temp fix

Saw the commercial for flex seal tape last night. Looks impressive…but I dunno if I’d trust that has a permanent fix. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how the population likes it.

Maybe a short term fix but I would do it right the first time.

JronmanMember since May 2016

duct tape fixes everything… so I’ve heard

A friend of mine who flips houses sent me a picture a while back.

Basically they took a basketball cut it in half an put a few band clamps around it to fix the cast iron pipe. They then did a built in shelf in the closet to hide it.

Conductor562Member since Nov 2011

I can see it now “Why the hell is my shelf leaking?”

That at sounds like something Mrs. Conductor would call me at work to tell me.

WeldfabNeilMember since May 2015

Lol

I know it was a major issue. After fixing the pipe they didn’t make much money on that house.

That said they buy houses cheap sometimes unseen. They do good on some but others end up like that one.
